A lesson I should have learned

A lesson I should have learned
My car was burglarized.
Last week I was going out to run some errands, I looked for my pocketbook in the house. Not seeing it, I assume my son did not bring it in the house. The night before I forgot to take it out the car, my son wanted to use the car and I told him when he comes in to bring my pocketbook in the house. As I walked towards my car, I opened the trunk and then closed it. As I got in the front seat, I noticed my car was ransacked. It had papers scattered all over the place. The armrest was open, its contents thrown on the floor, the glove compartment was emptied out and its contents on the floor. My CD’s were all over the back seat.
I wondered if my son was pulled over by the police and they searched the car. I got out the car and went back inside the house to ask my son did the police search my car? My son looked at me as if I lost my mind and gave me this look and said “what gave you that idea the police stop me to search the car”. I explained to him my car have been ransacked.
We both went to the car; he also was shocked by the inside appearance the car. What was they looking for? money? People still leave money in their car? even overnight? I can recall times where I mistakenly leave small change (bills) in the armrest and forgot all about it until the next morning. But really, people leave money, valuables in their car? As we were straightening things up, I noticed that I had change (coins) still in the car, I saw an old checkbook that I did not know about, an old credit card whose account was close, and wondered why they did not take them, still from what I can gathered, nothing was taken. Odd.
I constantly pray for the covering of the Blood of Jesus on everything concerning me. When I ask the Lord for the Blood covering over my car, I asked for protection from danger and accidents. As believers, we ask for the Blood of Jesus for protection and deliverance from human and demonic attacks. In this day and age with crimes on the rise, we desperately need it to be fully protected. Attacks do come at times, that is because we are living in an imperfect and corrupt world full of all kinds of evil of mass destruction. However, with the Blood of Jesus applied to our lives, family and things that concerns us; attacks can be prevented or if it comes, the results will not be severe. When I ask the Lord for the Blood covering over my car, I asked for protection from danger and accidents. If I can be very honest, burglary was far from my mind. I do not leave valuables in the car, at least not intentionally.
Burglary should have been a concern for me because I can remember a few years back, a previous car I had was burglarized on a church parking lot. They busted the back window and threw things all over the place searching for what I assume: money. Here I am worshiping and praising God inside while my car was being tampered. Since it was a warm night, I left my jacket in the car. In it was 63 dollars. (You would think now I learned my lesson from this event.) Anyway, they tore my car apart looking for some money; you can tell they had their hands on my jacket because it was thrown in the back seat; the money was smack dab in their face(s).God’s protection was on that car then and His protection was on it again with my current car. Why do you think I said that?
Had they pull the trunk release switch on the driver side, they would have opened my trunk. Inside they would have found what they were looking for: safely tucked inside, my pocketbook along with a digital camera. My son forgot to bring it in the house.
