Self-Made Prison
by Janice F. Baca
(Helotes, Texas)
Prison walls - a state of mind.
Wearing her Tuesday's outfit, she drove to work going the same path. She stopped to buy her usual cup of coffee at the same coffee shop down the street. Fumbling through her change purse, she pulled out the exact change and paid the cashier.
She arrived at work and sat in her blue chair, at her old black and gray desk, staring at her soup-splattered computer screen.
The office has everything to make it feel like home; the blanket grandma made, the family photos, and knick-knacks.
She plopped in her chair and glared at her computer. Her body slumped over. Her hands began to shake as she covered her face.
Opening her cabinet drawer, she pulled out a bottle of pills. She shoved tablets in her mouth and sipped her coffee. Taking deep breaths, she reached over and punched the button that brought the computer to life.
She struggled to swallow then slowly began her daily routine - minutes turned to hours.
At lunch she dashed to her car and drove to a nearby park. She sat in her car watching the trees sway with the wind. The birds and the butterflies flew from place to place, doing what they are called to do.
Glancing at her watch, she let out a deep sigh and closed her eyes. A tear rolled down her check as she started her car. The drive is slow - her thoughts soaring with the birds. She envisioned herself walking the sidewalks in the cool of the breeze with no one to stop her. Shaking her head, she straighten up in her chair, grunting at her thoughts.
Arriving a little too quickly for her own comfort, she sat in her car in the parking lot staring at the doors - the routine of her demise.
She trailed back to her cubicle and established the ritual again; completing the same day she did yesterday.
Later, arriving home, she walked through the kitchen and into the living room. She stood next to the window and her eyes became fixed beyond the glass.
Suddenly she caught a glimpse of her reflection in the window. Her hand rose gently touching the glass, tracing the contour of her reflection. Tears rolled down her cheeks. Her head bowed, her eyes lowered, she whispered a prayer. Lord, I believe in you. I hope you still believe in me. I don't deserve you in my life, Lord. But I know you made me for a purpose. I've ignored it all these years. I just - I just want to do what you created me to do. Please, Will you help me be free from this cycle of death? I want to live - live my dream. She slowly walked to her room, changed her clothes and climbed into bed. Pulling the covers under her chin, she thought about the words she prayed. Her eyes became heavy and she drifted to sleep. Suddenly, the room filled with light surrounding her body. A gentle wind circled around the room. The curtain began to flap with the movement of the breeze. The wind seemed to whisper throughout the room. Her eyes still closed, began darting left and right. She tossed and turned in her bed. A glow filled the room...a peace that surpasses all understanding engulfed the woman of prayer. She inhaled deeply breathing in the glow deep within her lungs. Then, quietness filled the room. She awoke the next morning feeling refreshed and renewed. Leaning over the counter she looked at her reflection in the mirror. She smiled with contentment. She left for work a little early and drove to the park. She left her car and walked the trail she never walked. She fed the birds she never fed. It is a new routine - it's a new day. My tomorrows will no longer look like my yesterdays. I am free from my prison. It's time to live and not die!

Reach Towards The Son
by Janice F Baca
(Texas)
Reach Towards The Son!
This is the season of change - Spring is more than just flowers, warmer weather, and a new season. Spring is a specifically appointed time of change created by God for the purpose of growth and new birth.
Think about the idea of God's seasons.
All the earth, the animals, the plants, the planet, everything has seasons; seasons of winter, summer, spring, fall. Why would man be excluded from the Lord's seasons if the remaining of all creation is within that season? The answer is; he wouldn't.
Have you ever noticed that it's spring when people decide to clean house or move furniture around? We call it "Spring Cleaning". Why is that? It's innate. Deep within each of us is the desire to clean those things that are old and cluttered and open up for the newness of what's to come.
It's like when a new mother is about to give birth and begins "nesting", getting prepared for the birth of that new baby which is on the way. The only difference is that the "birth" may not necessarily be a baby, but the "birth" of a promise, a hope, a new beginning, or a special change or gift.
This is the time I usually tap into that wonderful move of God and make every attempt to step that much closer to what God called me to do. It's like we have the super-gasoline to our future machine to make it that much closer to our destiny.
Watch the flowers break forth and reach towards the sun to say hello.
Now, we need to reach from beneath the dirt and look towards the Son and say "hello". And, in the midst of our reaching towards Him, He was already reaching towards us; because it's the time of new birth; our new beginnings.
All you tulips stand up and stretch your leaves out far! It's time to receive the gift of the Son!

I could picture what you were conveying.
A very good message!

Beautiful article on the Son, spring, change and human beings!
I especially like your words, "It's like when a new mother is about to give birth and begins "nesting", getting prepared for the birth of that new baby which is on the way. The only difference is that the "birth" may not necessarily be a baby, but the "birth" of a promise, a hope, a new beginning, or a special change or gift."
The examples of birth such as a baby, promise, hope, new beginnings, change or gift offer great examples of how the Son gives to us, daily, the gift of life and newness of the day...
God Bless and keep writing!

Answered Prayers
by Janice F. Baca
(Texas, USA)
Yesterday seemed as any other day. I went to work, worked hard, and came home tired. Later in the evening, a friend called for prayer. We consider ourselves prayer partners.
She called and decided to get a third friend on the phone. Her friend named, Tess began to pray for me, "Dear Lord", this third friend began to pray.
As soon as she began to pray, all the lights in our house went on and off. The faster she prayed, the more the lights flickered. She began praying about a project I was working on - a major project. I know the Lord was confirming something on my heart and I wrote the words to pray over. We hung up and I laid in bed baffled over the anointed prayer.
This morning when I woke up, I received a phone call, "Hello, Janice? My name is Fernando. You took care of me when I was wounded in Iraq."
"Fernando! I can't believe it's you! Are you okay? How are you doing?"
"I'm good. I'm married and have two daughters now. I've been deployed to Iraq now a third time."
"Are you back in Iraq now?"
"Yes. I'm calling you from Iraq. I can't talk long. I just called to tell you what an impression you made on me and my family when you took care of me in Germany. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you. I really want you to meet my family and my kids."
"I really want to meet them!"
"Well, I gotta go. I'll talk to you later!"
"Bye Fernando. Take care of yourself."
Fernando was my first wounded soldier I cared for when I was deployed in 2003. I realized that last night's prayer made a way to today's answer. I realized that God is in the business of answering prayers and moving mountains.
It didn't matter that Fernando was in Iraq, or didn't know how to contact me; he found a way. God always makes a way for destiny to occur.
When God has a plan he wants to complete, there will be nothing to stop it. The oceans, the continents, nor the weather can stop the plan of God. God answers prayers. Stand still and know that God is.

Right On Track
by Janice F. Baca
(Texas, USA)
You feel like your calling is in ministry, but you work as a secretary? Or perhaps you feel as though you are called to missionary work but you are a receptionist in a dentist's office?
Some days you look out the window and wonder how you can "get out there" and do what is in your heart; the calling which you feel like the Lord has for you... and it "seems to be out there some where - I think."
One thing I was shown this week...the Lord can use the secretarial, receptionist or programming skills as part of your ministry and calling. It may very well be part of that calling and it hasn't been revealed yet.
Even though the secretary is praying about her future ministry for the youth; or perhaps, the programmer is waiting to be a missionary in Africa. The Lord may be tapping into the skills you use each and every day to expand your territory.
How do you know that God is using these skills to expand your ministry? The Lord wants you to know. He will show you what His desire is for you and your destiny. He will give you the ability, the confirmations, and the anointing to do this "ministry." Yes, being a receptionist or secretary is a ministry. Your job or profession is a wonderful ministry, in fact.
He may have placed you in this "ministry" which will be used to expand the territory before he places you into the center of the ministry itself. It's just like putting a puzzle together and He is putting the corner and outer edges together first.
Perhaps part of the programmers ministry will be an on-line world-wide ministry which opens doors for world travels and missionary work. Wow! Who is better qualified for the on-line ministry? Better yet, maybe the receptionist has exceptional conversational skills and is asked to do receptionist work which leads into the ministry for the youth.
Unfortunately, many times we attempt to step into our ministry too soon. Or we have an idea what that looks like and we get into the wrong place altogether. That is when things really get bad. When you are in the wrong ministry or in the ministry at the wrong time, you don't have the anointing to make it happen the way it was intended.
Nothing will be right - everything seems to be wrong and go wrong and you don't have the strength and skill to do what you think you should be able to do. You're missing the anointing from the Lord.
The Lord wants you to know which direction to go. He gives direction in our lives so that we follow the cloud by day and the fire by night. He doesn't want us to miss His move.
Where you are right now may very well be where you are supposed to be - you're not off track at all.
The Lord hasn't forgotten nor rejected the calling in your life. In fact, He is expanding your borders in the very job you are doing today for your ministry and calling of tomorrow.

The Road Less Traveled
by Janice F. Baca
(Texas, USA)
Over the last few weeks our family has been faced with some very disturbing news. My mother was diagnosed with malignant breast cancer. This diagnosis sent us into a whirlwind instantly. Initially, the nurse in me wanted to take control of the situation. But I realized something; I never was, nor will ever be the one in control. Yes, I am to guide and help her in her time of need. But ultimately, God is the one who is in control.
My mother's situation forced me to stop and think about her destiny in this tough situation. One thing I realized is that destiny will still occur, in spite of her situation.
So many times in my life I believed that my situation canceled my purpose and destiny. But each time, God would reveal to me that he is greater than any of my problems. Perhaps that is what He is showing my mother in her tough time?
Chronic disease, injury, divorce, bankruptcy, or diability NEVER cancels destiny. God will make a way in spite of your situation.
Maybe your situation will reveal the magnificent faith and strength you have for the sake of someone else. This could be what your neighbor needs as they receive some tough news.
It could be that your ministry is not only with the other patients around you, but it could also be a ministry for the doctors and nurses.
I know many medical professionals who need to witness faith in action. This may very well save their life!
My mother's situation is not an end to her purpose, but a journey on a road less traveled. She will reach the goal God designed for her life. She will because it's the Lord himself calling her to the finish line. We will all pass our yellow ribbon of victory - bad situations can never hold back the hand of a living God!

Breaking Free
by Janice F. Baca
(Helotes, Texas)
The choice is yours to break free
I was reminiscing this morning about situations which changed my life. I remembered one thing in particular, specifically an elephant It was during this period of time I saw my life as a prison. I felt like my job, finances, and situations were making decisions for me. I was completely miserable. The walls seemed to be collapsing on me each day. I felt like I couldn’t move or do what I was really called to do. I mentioned my stifling situation to my friend thinking he would join me in my pity party; but, he didn’t. Instead he told me a story. I didn’t feel like I had time for a bedtime story, I was in pain. I let out a big sigh, looked at my watch and folded my arms and then plopped down in a nearby chair. “Janice, there was a baby elephant running free with his mom. One day, men who wanted to use him in a circus captured the baby elephant. The elephant struggled and struggled to get free, but couldn’t. He was dragged away from the place he knew and was taken to a new place. They put chains on his ankle and beat him every day.
Each day the little elephant fought and fought unsuccessfully to break the chains -- to be free. But as the years went by, he fought the chains less and less, until he no longer struggled against the chains that held him captive. One day the elephant was no longer a baby, but a massive giant. The mere size of his statue frightened everyone around him. The elephant, however, was so sad because he was still in chains. A brave owl flew by the elephant and decided to question the elephant. “uhh… Mr. Elephant, why are you sad?”
“I’m sad because I am in chains.”
“Why don’t you break the chains?” Owl asked.
“Because I can’t! I’ve tried for years, and they haven’t broken!” cried Elephant. Mr. Owl shrugged his shoulders and flew away. Elephant stayed in bondage for the rest of his days. He could never see that he was strong enough to break free.”
After my friend told me the story, he walked away. No explanation, no teaching, just a story. It was odd. I unfolded my arms, stood, and walked to a nearby mirror. Had I chosen all these years to remain in bondage like the elephant?
New choices flooded my mind. I realized I had the potential to be free all this time! I just didn’t realize I had the ability to be the woman I was called to be.
My voice came out small at first, but grew with each snap of the chain, “I am no longer small, fragile, or weak. I am strong, wise, and massive in Christ! I can break the chains which hold me down.”
Freedom and bondage are only a state of mind. I have a choice to make…do I want to be free? Or do I want to live in bondage?
Deuteronomy 30:19 says, “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”
The Lord gives us choices -- Choices to live large, to be free, and to be full of blessings.
I choose life! I choose freedom! I am no longer the elephant wrapped up in chains. The choices I make today, make me a free woman.

The Highway to Destiny
by Janice F. Baca
(Texas, USA)
Our vacations were remarkable when I was a child. I didn't have a worry in the world but to wake in time to see the amazing sites.
As I dozed in my mother's lap, I envisioned the roads we traveled while listening to the humming of our tires.
When I felt the car slow and my father made gentle turns, I knew we were close to something that was worth waking for - or perhaps a rest area for us to run and play.
Now that I am older, I wonder about my own life's journey to a place that brings fulfillment and contentment in my calling. But because the journey has been long, I needed to find a place within myself to stay focused, patient, and keep the pace. This is why I reflected on our childhood vacations.
Traveling to destiny is much like a long drive to your vacation. You wait patiently as the Lord guides you in the direction you are called. Sometimes you stop for a rest, or you stop to eat...but these are points to relax and recover for the highway that stretches ahead.
You are created for a purpose...your destiny. But sometimes it takes a while to get there. If you're tired of traveling on the highways, would you storm out of your car and swear to never get back in and remain in the middle of a dry desert? No. You would keep pushing to get nearer to your destination and eventually push to purpose. And that is exactly what your Father in Heaven wants you to do. He doesn't want you to remain in the desert. He wants you to walk in the calling He placed within your heart; that's where there is contentment and fulfillment in life.
How do you know when you are nearing your destination? You wake with your Father making small turns in your life until you near the little street that is called fulfillment. But until that time, rest on the journey as your Father drives you down the highways to destiny.
Blessings,

Bear Down!
by Janice F. Baca
(Helotes, Texas, USA)
Don't Be Afraid of Your Gas Chamber!
I knew in my heart I was called to evangelize in other countries. However, my expectation was that I would travel on my own schedule and not by US Air Force orders to South Korea. I sat in the crowded airport with dread of what was to come over the next year away from my family. It was at that time I closed my eyes to remember a lesson I learned in bearing down and overcoming tough obstacles.
It was a scorching August in San Antonio when I received specialized training in battlefield casualty care. The days were filled with intense field exercises, marching, and late night battlefield drills. I was one of the few women receiving this training and wanted to prove I could overcome the intensity of the austere environment.
On one particular morning, we were told we would be going to the gas chamber in order to test our ability to don and clear our gas masks. With a mischievous grin, the sergeant decided he would make the tear gas much thicker than usual so we would feel the BURN!
The sergeant teased the women in my row stating we would be the first to run out the door because “women can’t handle the burn.” We became very nervous and doubted our ability to make it through. With his last statement I turned to the women and asked if they had ever given birth. Each woman stated they had. I told the ladies I was sure this was less painful than giving birth and that we were to bear down through this experience as a woman in labor. We agreed to stand strong through this experience together no matter the pain.
The time came when we were to enter into the gas chamber. There was only one way in and one way out. The women were positioned to enter first. Single file we walked in a large circle arcing back towards the entrance. The last man entered completing the circle. We were instructed to take off our gas mask, state our name, rank and unit; starting with the women in the front of the line. One by one, we took off our masks. Immediately, our eyes were on fire, our nose was burning, and our throats were seared. After we made our statements, we put our gas masks back on and cleared the gas from around our face. Our eyes were watering, our nose draining, and our skin was cherry red.
Once I cleared my mask, I looked around for the other women to see how they were faring. It was difficult to open my eyes and see through the tears, but I could see they were still standing in the same place. The looks on their faces were that of mothers bearing down and pushing through the pain of childbirth.
Each person took his or her turn one by one completing the circle. The last man slowly removed his mask, started to speak and then began screaming. He then began to panic, rubbing his face and eyes as he ran out the chamber door. Blinded by the pain, he was unable to see the obstacles in front of him and collided into a tree. The impact knocked him out cold!
While attempting to maintain composure, the remaining people slowly walked around the gas chamber to exit in an orderly fashion. We knew we were one step closer to overcoming a tremendous test. At that moment, I knew the women had the ability to bear the pain and push through to victory.
Suddenly I heard the announcement our plane was boarding for South Korea and I awoke with a renewed courage. The goal of our gas chamber experience was to prepare us to be the best medics for our soldiers in time of war. God’s purpose in His training for us is no different. It is the Lord’s preparation and training that gives us the ability to overcome obstacles and face the unknown. Even though we may be walking in our calling, there are moments we must face tough situations. He prepares us for victory to fulfill our purpose. However, through those situations the Lord births new strengths in us. Plus, I have to confess that gas chambers don’t scare me any more.
I gathered my belongings understanding there will be times ahead that we, as God’s people, need to bear down and push to victory. Whether trials are from God or from man, we need to do as we did when we faced our gas chamber, bear down and push to victory. Perhaps afterwards you won’t be afraid of your gas chamber as well.

Thanks Janice,
It is good to be encouraged to bear the pain of this moment. It is very, very hard though. I have done the gas mask excircise and it is very similar to our life experiences. We just want to get out of the tough situation. We wanted over, fast, NOW! But as you say that is how we grow. I am thankful to be reminded of this.

It's hard sometimes to 'bear down' and just get on with it, especially when we feel like giving up. But as a priest once told me God has given us all the tools we need. So I think if we believe this than we can pull through anything. It may not be easy but we can do it.
God Bless

Everything God Wants You To Be
by Janice F. Baca
(Texas, USA)
A few days ago I was enjoying a more relaxed evening (while between semesters) and decided to curl up with a good book. I ran to the nearby bookstore, dug through the Christian books and ran across one of Max Lucado's books called Cure For the Common Life. I recommend this book to anyone who may be dreading their tomorrows! Pastor Lucado hit on some very interesting facts. Let me share a few with you: * Unhappiness on the job affects one-fourth of the American work force.
* One-fourth of employees view their jobs as the number one stressor in their lives.
* Seven out of ten people are neither motivated nor competent to perform the basics of their job.
* Forty-three percent of employees feel anger toward their employers often or very often as a result of feeling overworked.
* Forty-five percent of all U.S. workers said they would change their careers if they could. Fully 70 percent of us go to work without much enthusiasm or passion. Most wage earners spend forty of their eighty waking weekday hours trudging through the streets of Dullsville. Such misery can't help but sour families, populate bars, and pay the salaries of therapists.
If 70 percent of us dread Mondays, dream of Fridays, and slug through the rest of the week, won't our relationships suffer? Won't our work suffer? Won't our health suffer? One study states, "Problems at work are more strongly associated with health complaints than any other life stressor; more so than even financial problems or family problems."
These statistics are amazing! We have gifts and talents buried so deeply within that we have almost forgotten our true calling. What is the original dream? What has God called us to do?
We have a specially designed purpose and unique job to perform; keeping in mind - this is EXACTLY what we want to do in our inner-hearts.
Pastor Lucado is right in saying that Society and secular thinking attempts to convince us that we can do "anything" we want to be. That is a lie - "you can be everything GOD wants you to be."

Weight of Discipline; Heaviness of Regret
by Janice F. Baca
(Texas, USA)
"We must all suffer from one of the two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons." - Jim Rohn
Working on my Masters in Theology has been a tremendous challenge. In fact, as I neared the end of the semester, I became exhausted, frustrated, and weary. I had only 3 weeks left of the semester, but the weariness began to really wear on my soul.
I found myself asking, "why am I doing this?" I lost all sight of my original purpose for beginning this program. When I lost the vision, I lost my sense of drive and discipline. I wanted to quit.
I played out in my mind the "what if's." What if I quit? What if I gave up this vision? Where would I go then? What would I do? Where would I go?
When I asked myself these questions, I had no answer. I couldn't see beyond those questions. Without the original vision, there was no vision; there was no purpose.
It's the goal; it's my purpose. It's worth fighting for. Some days are just that tough.
We push and push to our goal in our lives, but seem to come to a place that we are just tired.
I remember years ago when I was stationed in South Korea and I decided to climb a mountain. It was a steep mountain and I felt compelled to climb it. I climbed that mountain for hours. I climbed until I was really struggling to breath. In fact, I climbed so hard that I had a small amount of blood in my mouth. I wanted to give up. I felt like I couldn't make it any longer.
Exhausted, I sat down on a rock to contemplate my failure to make it to the top of the mountain like my friends did. I was frustrated and angry with myself. I sat on the rock looking down the mountain I just climbed, watching the people who were still climbing up behind me.
Then I saw an unusual look on one person as they climbed next to me. She looked past me and told everyone to look at the scene behind me. When I turned around, I realized I had made it to the summit! I was only 5 feet from the top of the mountain.
Sometimes we give up too early and live with regret. There may also be times we think we are not good enough and then don't try at all. I encourage all of you to live with the weight of discipline, not the heaviness of regret.

Defeat the Ultimate Weapon
by Janice F. Baca
(Texas, USA)
Negativity kills hopes, dreams, and visions. It's what the North Koreans called the "Ultimate Weapon of War" during the Korean War.
Reading How Full Is Your Bucket?: Positive Strategies for Work and Life by Tom Rath, PhD and Donald O. Clifton changed my life. Major (Dr.) William E. Mayer, U.S. Army's chief psychiatrist studied approximately 1,000 American prisoners of war who were detained in the North Korean camp during the Korean War. He discovered one of the most devastating psychological warfare on record.
The American soldiers imprisoned in a North Korean Camp were not tormented by cruel or unusual conventional standards. In fact, they had adequate food, water, and shelter. They were not physically tortured at all. Yet many died in those camps and were not surrounded by guards, or fences and they never attempted to escape!
Their technique was so effective that when survivors were released, they were given an opportunity to phone loved ones. Only a few made the call. When the soldiers returned home, the soldiers maintained no relationship with each other. In fact, Mayer described each man as being in a "solitary confinement cell" without any steel or concrete.
What caused the problem with the men? It's called hopelessness. The torture inflicted on the men was an extreme hopelessness that the soldier would many times wander into his hut, sit down, pull a blanket over his head and die within two days. This extreme hopelessness raised the death rate in the North Korean POW to 38%. This was the highest POW death rate in U.S. military history.
Can you imagine? Death from hopelessness?
What were their tactics: First, the North Koreans would give prisoners rewards for snitching on one another which turned the men against one another.
Second, the the men were gathered into groups of 10 or 12 and each was required to stand up in front of the group and confess all the bad things he had done or all the good things he could have done but failed to do. This confession destroyed each other's respect and trust.
Third, the soldier's allegiance to his superiors was destroyed. They no longer kept their ranks, their respect for superiors or their position of belonging. Each was out for himself. There was even one case that 40 men took three of their ill soldiers and threw them outside the mud hut and left them to die. Since they no longer had a relationship, they didn't care about one another.
Lastly, if the soldier received an encouraging letter, their captors would destroy it immediately. The negative letters, however, were delivered right away. An example is one where the wife would write to her husband telling him she has given up. She no longer believed he was alive or returning home. Can you imagine? A wife writing to her husband saying that she has given up with the idea that he could be alive and she is marrying again? In fact, they even delivered overdue bills to the soldiers!
The constant negativity broke the spirit of each man to the point of death. They were extremely hopeless and felt they had no reason to live.
Negativity kills. The enemy still uses the same tactics he did then. He doesn't want you to see purpose in your future.
If negativity has this much power, can you imagine how much MORE power God's word has? The enemy can only imitate what is already created by the Lord. Therefore, he created an imitation of the positive love and hope of God's word.
We have the true ultimate weapon of war. It's speaking, singing, writing God's word. It's surrounding yourself with positive, hopeful, faithful people in Christ. In doing this, you will reach your goal through the power of Christ!

Put Your Faith Into Action
by Janice F. Baca
(San Antonio, Texas)
Faith In Action - Brings Joy and Fulfillment
God told you so - what are you waiting for? You were designed by God for a purpose, but what holds you back? Economic times, layoffs, troubled marriage, lost children, failed business, or a lost home?
I hear many say, "I was created to sing, dance, start a business, teach, preach, or for missionary work - but all those dreams are lost now". Basically, we are saying, "God created me to do this thing. But it won't happen for me." However, since God created us to do this, WHY ARE WE NOT DOING IT? If He said so, then where is our faith?
I listened to TD Jakes sermon this morning called "Put Your Faith In Action" and it really rattled me to push out on my faith.
He said, "You are not waiting on God. God is waiting on You!" Then what are we doing? God spoke it -- do we not believe what He said?
We are going through hard economic times - yes, I agree. However, is our God not bigger than this? Do we doubt that our God is able? TD Jakes said, "Feed your faith and starve your doubt!" We allow this doubt to flood our minds over and over. We think about how God abandoned us, or won't move on our behalf; a lie of the enemy. That is feeding our doubt. But now it's time to feed our faith!
Jesus is the name above ALL names. His name is above, poverty, lack, not having enough. His name is above sickness, loss, and death. Speak His name and allow him to crush that situation which tries to keep you from your purpose!
Without faith, it is impossible to please God. God wants you to step out in faith. He wants your actions to match your faith!
You speak about singing, dancing, teaching, preaching "one day." But if God created us to step up and move into that calling, then why do we wait? Today is now that "one day."
This is when we start off in the direction which is our destiny and calling. You start chasing your blessings, as TD Jakes says. Then watch what will happen! The blessings and miracles will start chasing you!
"If you start it, God will finish it," TD Jakes.

Declare Victory!
by Janice F. Baca
(Texas, USA)
Each day I think about how to overcome obstacles to meet destiny face to face. Each day I become more determined that it will happen; this never leaves my mind.
I also think about how each individual needs to step into their calling as well. I believe when someone steps into their calling, they have a peace about them. This peace is present even though there may be much turmoil around them. When you are operating in that calling - you can't replace that feeling of knowing you are doing what you are called to do; you found what you were created to do - the very core of your being.
When my mother was diagnosed last month with metastatic breast cancer, I could only believe that she would not miss what God has called her to do. There is nothing that can hold her back from God's destiny. However, at the same time, I had a bit of reality hit me.
I went to have my own mammogram completed. I received a letter that there is an area of "suspicion." This was news that really shook me up and sent me into a moment of complete fear.
However, when I stopped to think about it, I became indignant - very angry. I refuse to be stopped. I refuse to be slowed down from the ministry which the Lord has called me to. There will be nothing to stop the calling in my life - ever. When the Lord placed something deep within us, there is NOTHING that can stop it!
Jesus is the name above all names. He is the name above cancers, sickness, plagues, injury, or finance. Therefore, his promise will always stand - for each and every one of us.
It takes a faith that goes beyond human comprehension. Yes, continue to get medical care - always. I'm a Registered Nurse and believe that modern medical care is also from God. But while doing this, stand in faith knowing that God will make a way when there was no way. Climb that mountain, stand on the top, and declare your victory today!

Edge Of A Miracle

Edge Of A Miracle
"OH GOD HELP ME!” I couldn’t be strong any longer. Strength left my body dropping me to the floor like a rag doll.
With all the signs and confirmations provided by the Lord, I felt like I was supposed to be here. But as I looked around the room I saw the emptiness of my new apartment, my living quarters for the next year. My bags still packed sat on my newly assigned bed next to a small living room with a dingy sofa, small chair, scarred desk, and a rabbit-eared television. I looked around in shock; there is no comfort for my bleeding heart. I knew I would miss the first bicycle ride, the first tooth pulled, and the scraped knees that only a mother of three could heal.
In spite of the longing in my heart, I stopped crying, washed my face, and squared my shoulders. The Lord has given me new hope, dreams, and a place to run to in difficult times. I have to try! I have to withstand! What He has given me is more than I could ever offer Him.
So, I declared to the Lord “I am not losing a year in South Korea - I am dedicating this year to you!”
Shortly after my declaration to the Lord, I ran into a fellow officer. He told me about a military program I might be interested in. The base office assigns an American Military with a South Korean National for a traditional Korean dinner and entertainment.
The program was developed so the two cultures could appreciate differences and create a stronger alliance. I felt a nudging on my heart and decided I needed to get involved. So, I signed the agreement form and volunteered for the program.
On the day of the event, all the volunteers gathered in one room. The noise from the crowd rumbled throughout as we anxiously waited for the announcements to begin.
The announcer stepped up to the podium and motioned for silence in the room. He pulled out a crisp piece of paper from his pocket and put on his small reading glasses. He announced the Korean elect’s biography and then revealed the American military match.
The statuses of the Korean representatives are remarkable. The name and biography of the esteemed Republic of Korea (ROK) Air Force Officer, Colonel Stong (name changed to protect privacy) rang out along with mine and a fellow American officer’s name. Colonel Stong introduced himself and then quickly escorted us to his car and drove to his home. Feeling out of place, we walked into the apartment, removed our shoes and were greeted by Colonel Stong’s wife and two children at the door.
We were all seated around the small table in the living room so we could get to know each other. The Colonel explained that their youngest son’s school offered the program as part of their education. The son asked his father if their family could get involved with the military dinner and thought it would be fun. With much convincing, Colonel Stong agreed to participate.
Intrigued with the story, I felt an immediate connection with Colonel Stong and his family and wanted to get to know them personally. I walked around the living room and commented on their apartment. I stopped at the bookshelf, pulled out individual books attempting to identify book titles and book covers with books I may have read. My ability to read the South Korean language isn’t very good.
I recognized the appearance of one book and my spirit jumped; it is the Bible. I asked Colonel Stong if he is a Christian (as Christians are a minority in South Korea).
His eyes opened wide and then he asked, “Yes, are you?”
My heart began to race with excitement. I then answered, “Yes sir I am. I am a minister from my church.”
He bowed stating that he is honored to have me in his home. I am very humbled, understanding that in South Korean culture, women are not usually honored.
He continued explaining that after our Korean dinner we are going to his church for a Christian Children’s Recital. The sweet contours of his face formed slowly around English words as he described the feelings that God gave him the “impression” I am to be the keynote speaker tonight.
I think I am in shock - or maybe just dizzy. No matter what it is, I said, “YES!”
As soon as I accepted the invitation, we sat around the table and sang songs of praise. After our dinner, we dashed off to the church, excited about our adventure and newfound friendship. We rushed inside and I was taken directly to the minister’s room to wait for the queue.
After being seated in the minister’s room, I was surrounded by the most gracious and giving people I have ever seen. Servants who came to serve me each held a tray of snacks or drinks with both arms extended towards me while bowing.
Suddenly, the door flew open and two men came to escort me to the front of the church. I was seated in the front pew waiting to receive the sign. Colonel Stong was doing the introduction and then gave the wave for me to come forward. I thought my knees buckled and I wasn’t even standing yet!
I stood on jell-o legs and walked slowly to the podium, hoping not to trip. The podium was situated below the stage on the right-hand side. The stage was displayed with instruments and props for the children to perform.
I arrived safely to the podium and then looked down at my Bible (thank the Lord I carry it everywhere) and fumbled through the pages looking for the Scripture I marked earlier. It’s a good thing I flagged the corner; I couldn’t remember the Scripture!
Still looking down, I took a deep breath, praying the Lord would fill my mouth with His words; knowing it couldn’t be mine. I slowly lifted my head and noticed photographers surrounding me! The bats in my stomach were now buzzards gnawing their way out of my body! I wish I had worn a better outfit and had my hair done!
I read Psalms 150 and spoke what was in my heart. Since I didn’t have a formal script to read, the only words I have to give are those within me.
I explained in my speech we are to use our instruments and talents to praise the Lord. I paused every couple of sentences allowing Colonel Stong to interpret. The audience stirred with excitement and many pulled out pens and papers, writing the words we spoke.
In spite of the dizziness and jell-o legs, God’s words were powerful, heart felt, and filled with love. I concluded my shoot-from-the-hip speech stating we are different cultures and colors, but one family in Christ.
After the interpretation, the audience began clapping. I thanked them in their language, coupled with a bow that sent the audience into an explosion of applause!
I was escorted by the ushers and seated in the front row. The photographers followed closely behind, continuing to take pictures.
I can’t believe what the Lord has accomplished through me. Don’t they know? I’ve lived a lifetime of mistakes. Who am I that you would consider me?
The time came to leave. Colonel Stong motioned for us to quietly step out since the children are still playing their instructions.
When I stood, the band director motioned the children to silence their instruments. The church members stood and gave a standing ovation as I walked down the aisle to exit the main sanctuary!
After exiting the sanctuary, the photographers requested I stop and pose for more photographs. After several photos, Colonel Stong told the photographers the time is up and rushed us away.
Hours later I sat on the bus in complete disbelief. I realized how important it is that I continue studying my scriptures, pray, and have a strong relationship with the Lord for times such as this. I understand now why it is important that I be prepared to give my testimony in and out of season.
My dedication to the Lord provided an amazing opportunity to be blessed. I gave, and He gave back. Then I remembered - He first gave to me.
My distressed friend sat at the table with tears rolling down her cheeks as she heard my testimony.
I continued to explain that over the years, the Lord revealed that Colonel Stong is a great leader in a worldwide military ministry. He flew to America to bless my new marriage and then introduced my husband and I to other world leaders. These leaders invited us to minister with them in other countries…and this is the beginning of ONE divine appointment.
Without speaking, she slowly stood, walked to the nearby sink. Her head down, her back facing me, she softly spoke, “I needed to hear these words. It’s been hard during this time. I see that I have a difficult decision to make – one that I can’t put off.” She whimpered a soft cry and then began to pray, “Lord, my life is not my own, but yours. I have come to you and asked for comfort, luxury, and relief of pain. But I realize my pain has only shown where the troubles are; I need to give back to you.
Lord, I give you my life. I dedicate all that I am and all that I have to you. Use me mightily. The pain I experience today means that I am on the edge of a great miracle tomorrow!”

Dreamgiver

Dreamgiver
Have you had the blessing (on that rare occasion) to stand outside and feel the sunshine dancing all around you? and it was right in the middle of the work week? Then when you are working the other days, you remember these sunshine-dance days and wonder if the sun is still dancing today?
You return to work and then slump in your chair; your hands are busy doing what they are supposed to do, but your heart still ponders the hope of destiny.
Yesterday I heard Pastor Joel Osteen give a testimony about a man whom God vindicated. This man was a mechanic. He worked day and night, week after week. He was the top mechanic in the station. However, he had a boss who hated him.
His boss never commended him, never promoted him, and never gave him a raise for his good performance. This man only hung onto hope that God had more for him-somewhere, somehow.
Then one day the owner of the station called the mechanic and requested a meeting. This man never met the owner; he only knew his name. But the man faithfully went to meet with the owner, feeling a bit nervous, I'm sure.
The owner divulged to him that he was getting old and wanted to retire from the mechanic/gas station business. He asked the faithful mechanic if he would like to buy the business from him. The man told him that he didn't have the money to buy the station. The owner then said, "That's okay", and offered to loan the money.
Today, the faithful mechanic is no longer mistreated, neglected, or spoken down to. The boss who mistreated him and refused to acknowledge him now has to make an appointment to speak with him-that's God's vindication.
One thing someone told me - "never forget in the darkness what God spoke to you in the light. Hang onto promise, hope, and faithfulness. God doesn't forget your dream. He's the dreamgiver who first granted you the dream...
God will be the one to open doors of opportunity to fulfill that dream."

BEWARE - YOUR DESTINY IS AT RISK!
by Janice F. Baca
(Texas, USA)
STOP AND LISTEN!
Have you been diagnosed with cancer, diabetes, declining eyesight, lack of energy, infections, or any other illness or ailment? The enemy does not want you to make it to your destiny!
If the enemy can't overtly kill you, he will slowly kill you with lack of essential nourishment. Take notice of your body. Have you noticed you are very tired in the early evening? Or maybe you have a new diagnoses that you can't seem to accept? It's because the enemy is taking over the foods you consume.
Your foods are now radiated with claims to kill the bacteria. The problem is that radiation destroys the vital nutrients you desperate need. The processed foods lack vital nutrients. With all the foods and drinks you consume in a day, you are falling further and further behind on your daily needs. When this happens, your robust immune system, which normally fights cancer and other serious diseases, can no longer fight. That's when the diagnoses is given and your life changes for the worse.
In today's society, it is a REQUIREMENT to take supplements. Your foods are not what was originally designed from the time God created the earth. The environment has changed. The world has changed; and how we treat our foods has changed. Therefore, our foods are seriously lacking the nutrients we need to survive and thrive. If you are unaware of this fact, then you may fall prey to the enemy's plan - death by malnutrition.
Did you know that cancer is curable? There are physicians in the United States who have "cured" cancer by simply providing the basic nutrients each patient was lacking. If you have not read Suzanne Summer's Knockout: Interviews with Doctors Who Are Curing Cancer--And How to Prevent Getting It in the First Place, then I suggest you run to the book store and purchase it now. It will change your life.
In spite of my pleas, my mother went through chemotherapy for breast cancer. She sat for hours with her fingers in ice water as she was warned the chemo would "rot off her fingernails." The sickening fact is that the chemotherapy she received has absolutely NO POSITIVE HISTORICAL RESULTS.
My question is, "Why did she get forced to take it by manipulation and coercion?" Why should anyone be convinced to take a drug that has no positive historical results? These drugs are poison to your body. After her destructive surgery, her next step is to take radiation treatments; which, I might add, causes cancer.
Many oncologist state if they are diagnosed with cancer, they will REFUSE to take chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Then why do they give it to their patients? Why should you be forced to take poison when God has natural nutrition to boost your body?
Let's look at one small example of what is happening with your nutrition. I read in Life Extension Magazine, William Faloon and the Life Extension team found that millions of Americans are suffering and dying because they are not ingesting enough Vitamin D. In spite of the outcome of this date being handed to every Congressional office, the government did nothing.
Mr. Faloon even offered to DONATE 50,000 FREE bottles of Vitamin D (365 capsules) to the American people. Why is this important?
Understand how vital Vitamin D is to your body. Vitamin D is linked to virtually EVERY age-related disorder including cancer, vascular disease, and chronic inflammatory disease. Low vitamin D can also result in more colds, influenzas, and other viral infections (Life Extension, January 2010 edition, pg. 7. We have a very serious epidemic; and you need to be aware.
As Christians, you need know what is happening to your nutrition and within your nation's capital. The enemy is trying to cut you off from your destiny by destroying you from the inside out. If your body is not nourished properly, you can't fight the battles and win. DO NOT FALL TO THIS PLAN. Make changes today to care for the temple of the Holy Spirit.
