Bible study for a woman in today's environment is incredibly effective as women try to do it all, be it all, and clean it all.
As I finished this book, "What's in the Bible for Women?", I found it to be a great guide that helps make sense of the concepts and principles as they pertain to women.
Back in the days when the Bible was written, the roles of men and women were just a bit different than they are today. Back then, women were to be seen and not heard. Consequently, the bible reflects many of the customs of that time.
But this book puts a lot of the great stuff for women front and center.
I was particularly impressed by the authors wit and humor as they apply scriptures to the stuff that happens in everyday, real life to Christian women.
And they do throw in the occasional bible inspirational verse just to keep you feeling good about all the learning.
My favorite part of the book is in Chapter 3: From Burnout to Balance. The authors promote simplicity, defining priorities, cutting clutter, etc. You know, all the stuff we'd all like to think we're good at, but in truth, we struggle.
The book also quotes many well known Christian authors who have written Bible related books on some of these topics. By taking some of the key points from each author, the book seems to encompass a lot of great stuff all in one place. It's taking Bible study for a woman to a place of clarity and it's definitely a more simplistic approach.
This is a wonderful resource for your daily bible study.
Using a Bible study guide can really help your focus as you try to find those areas that apply to you.
The truth is, all the areas in the Bible apply to you. If you're looking for answers, just open the book! You'll be surprised at all the GREAT stuff in there.
