Boyfriend cheating

My boyfriend cheated on me after 5 years, but I really think he might be the one for me, should I run away now before even considering marriage, or should I forgive and try again?

I feel I can't move on
by: Anonymous

See, I don't believe in sleeping with each other before you get married, but it happened. Now I don't feel worth anyone else's love. I feel like second-hand waste. And I truly believe I'm not worth being someone else's wife. So I feel I have to make it work. He was perfect in every other way. I know everyone makes mistakes and should be forgiven. I also feel that he really has learnt from his mistake and someone else will give him a chance, and then to think he will be the perfect man with someone else, makes me feel it should be with me then rather. He never even looked at other girls and I just don't know how he could cheat. He's begging me back, but I'm hurt and lost. My parents are divorced, so I've been through this one too many times.

The proof is in the pudding

If your boyfriend is already cheating, then I'm not sure why you think he may be the one for you. I'm sure there are lots more details about your situation that would help clarify things, but all I can say from what you've written is that it's not a good sign at this point.

God is the only one who can tell you what your next steps should be. And the only way you'll find out what those are is to spend time talking to Him, listening to Him, and learning how to be led by the Spirit. You will be led by peace when a decision is the right one. And you'll feel mighty uncomfortable when it isn't right.

Blessings,

Karen
