Choosing Gods Best ...

Your Best Life Now

by Joel Osteen

Karen's Book Review

Everyone wants the secret to choosing Gods best. Wouldn't it be great if there were a simple set of steps you could take to make it happen? It isn't quite that simple, but this book is definitely a good start.

Your Best Life Now...What a concept. It is always a treat to read a book that is positive and is filled with suggestions about choosing Gods best and how to make it happen.

I found "Your Best Life Now" a very easy read, filled with stories and humor that made the real life lessons go down very easily.

It's way too easy to continually look at all the negative stuff that literally screams out from the news every single day. AND it's way too easy to not only repeat all that negative stuff, but tell myself that this is how life is supposed to be for everyone without exception.

"Your Best Life Now" takes a completely different approach to how life is supposed to be. I completely agree that we create our own reality through our thoughts. After reading this book I feel compelled to start watching for all the negative stuff in my own life, making sure I don't let it get in the way of all the things God has for me and my family.

Choosing Gods best means making the commitment to live positively and completely. As this book led me through the discussion of life's disappointments and what can be learned from those experiences, and God's training that comes from them, I couldn't help thinking about the old adage...there are always two ways of looking at things.

We can look at the disappointments and failures as steps to where we're going, or we can reaffirm that we'll always fail, we live to fail, and we'll never amount to anything. What a choice.

I think I most enjoyed the section in the book that talks about choosing to be happy. This section made so much sense to me. It talks about making an actual decision, every single day, to be happy knowing we get to have God's peace, love, and passion for life. It doesn't mean we have to walk around in the clouds, but it does mean we don't just have to live through the negative stuff without also having all the great stuff God says I can have.

I would heartily recommend this book as a foundational book about what it means to live as a victorious Christian. Choosing Gods best changes your view from a life of struggle to a life of victory. Great Read.
