A Christian marriage restoration? For a famous country music star? It's refreshing, that's for sure.
In her book, Denise Jackson, wife of Alan Jackson, tells her story of struggle, pain, and her journey to become an independent woman. It seems hard to imagine that someone who has every imaginable material possession could struggle so much in a Christian marriage relationship, but it just goes to show that sometimes things aren't always as they appear to be.
I liked this book because it gives hope to many other struggling Christian women. Marriage is not an easy journey for anybody. And just because you have a Christian marriage doesn't mean you don't face the exact same struggles as everyone else.
In Denise's case, the struggles were compounded by raising kids alone and building her life around someone else completely. Even though she was raised in a Christian home, her dependence was on her husband instead of God. It led to a complete breakdown in her marriage.
But a Christian marriage restoration was a part of God's plan once she realized what was happening and took steps to correct it.
I heartily recommend this book to any Christian woman who struggles with self esteem issues and has constant problems in her marriage. It can all turn around if you look for answers in the right places.
