What is Christian Meditation?

A relatively new term, Christian meditation simply means you're doing what God said to do in:

Philippians 4:8 (AMP): For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things (fix your minds on them).

Christian meditation is simply focusing on what God says instead of what the world says. It's clearing out the noise so you have a chance to fill up with right stuff.

All throughout this site you will see references about how your thoughts determine your actions. You'll hear me say that you move toward what you think about so it's really important to control your thoughts.

You'll even find where I tell you that many of your current attitudes and your level of self esteem comes from all the things that have happened in your past and how you feel about them. All the people in your life have contributed either positively or negatively to how you feel about yourself today.

Some people say it's almost impossible to control your thoughts. But the truth is, God created you to choose your thoughts. He created you with free will, which means you don't have to accept every negative, self defeating thought that comes into your mind.

Instead, you have the choice of filling your mind with positive, life affirming thoughts that take you down the right path.

Here's a great way to start filling up with the right stuff. Rhonda Jones, our NEWEST columnist, is a wonderful Christian woman who is a Christian author and speaker. She developed a series of Christian Meditation CD's to help your soul fill up with all the right stuff.

Take a look at this sample called, As I Close My Eyes. How awesome would it be to go to sleep at night with these thoughts in your head?

Here are some more of Rhonda's CD's.
