Do Your Christian Prayers REALLY Work?

Authority in Prayer

by Dutch Sheets

Karen's Book Review

Can your Christian prayers REALLY make a difference? In a word, YES. I just finished reading a GREAT book called, "Authority in Prayer".

Dutch Sheets talks about the call on his life and his prayer journey in this book. He shares his experiences and how prayer was instrumental in some major victories for Christians in this country.

I always enjoy reading Christian books that discuss concepts that are new to me. This book definitely fits the bill.

The author discusses the differences between power and authority in great detail. In the very beginning, God gave Adam authority over all the earth and everything in it. But when Adam and Eve committed their major faux paus in the garden, they turned their authority over to Satan.

Satan's authority to "rule the earth" continued until Jesus came on the scene. When He died and rose, He took back all authority and now Satan has virtually no authority whatsoever.

The key to all of this is that even though Satan technically has no authority to torment, kill, and destroy families, relationships, and societies today, he does it anyway. And he does it because Christians aren't standing up to him, using the authority they were given as followers of Christ.

The book describes how to use that authority, how to build your relationship with Christ and the issues in your life that affect the amount of authority you are given. It discusses your Christian prayers and how to make them really work for you.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would heartily recommend it if you genuinely want to go deeper in your relationship with Christ. I think this book can be life changing when you apply the concepts.

Buy "Authority in Prayer: Praying with Power and Purpose".
