Christian Time Management ... What Does That Mean?
Renovating Becky Miller

Karen's Book Review
Christian time management is an important part of our Christian walk. But why does it seem so elusive?
I recently read "Renovating Becky Miller" by Sharon Hinck. It is a story of a Christian woman with a husband, kids, a part time job working at a church, a bad leg from an accident, and a mother-in-law living with them. How's that for a full plate?
On top of it all, they buy a "fixer-upper" while experiencing financial problems. My first thought was, "Are you nuts?"
I think the thing that struck a cord about this story was Becky Miller's determination to make it all work. As a Christian, she prayed and spent time with God, but she made the same mistake we all make sometimes. She made a plan and expected God to bless it. It wasn't until she finally asked God about His plan, His timing, and what He would have her do that things began to come together.
Christian time management was a HUGE issue for Becky Miller. There was always one issue or another that was out of balance and throwing her into a tizzy. She knew she needed to put God first in her Christian priorities, but as she continued to get caught up in all that comprised her life, things just spiraled further and further out of control.
I think people usually have good intentions when they take on way too many things. Somehow you think the word "no" goes against all that's Christian, and you won't be able to sleep at night if you even think you may be letting someone else down. But the reality is that it isn't God that's putting all that pressure on you. God always equips you for a task, as long as He's the one giving out the assignment; and you even get to have His anointing to do it.
Once you've experienced His anointing, you just don't want to be without it in any task. Being a Christian time management student doesn't have to be difficult. That is, as long as you pray first and then plan, and NOT the other way around.
