CONFUSED AND BROKEN HEARTED

Hi my name is tonya. My husband left me a month after we were married. He said he wasnt ready to be married. He still has not taken all of his belongings. He still calls sometimes to see how I'm doing. I'm very broken hearted about this. I find myself greiving a lot lately. I'm a strong believer in God and I pray daily to stay strong. I really want my marriage to worlk, but I'm not sure what to do.

The Tough decisions
by: Karen

Hi Tonya,

I'm very sorry for the pain you must be feeling. I'm sure it's been a tough road for you.

Getting married these days seems to have a completely different meaning than years ago. For whatever reason some people don't consider "till death do us part" a legitimate life decision.

And then there are those who marry when they know God is telling them not to do it. They sense inside that it's not the right thing to do, yet they're caught up in all the hoopla of the day.

A few weeks or months later reality smacks them in the face and they wonder what happened. That whole "two becoming one" looks like a nightmare. Both people think the other one is the one who is supposed to "become".

Tonya, it's not easy for me to tell you exactly what to do because there are so many unknown issues. Not knowing your history with your husband and all that entails, I would strongly encourage you to go see a Christian counselor who can help you sort it all out.

They will be able to offer you perspective as well as lay out some options for you so you don't feel so stuck.

Tonya, the Word says that when you keep asking for God's help, He'll provide it. Perhaps the help you seek will be in the form of counseling.

Many blessings,

Karen
