Why Does Your Depression Hurt?

Where does depression hurt? You've seen all the commercials about simply taking a pill and miraculously, all the pain disappears. What a concept...

Unfortunately, the answer is YES, you know there is "depression hurt" that is affecting many areas in your life.

There are so many weird ideas attached to depression help these days. It makes it that much more difficult for people to seek help because first they have to battle all the weird ideas.

Can you see how the sun shines through in this photo? That is exactly like the hope you'll find when you look to God right smack in the middle of all that pain. Just look up.

I recently read a GREAT book called "Seeing In The Dark". I was really impressed at the down to earth style of this book. It dispels lots of myths and gets down to the real stuff.....the truth about depression, and yes it even answers the question, "Does Depression Hurt?"

And, there are several other GREAT BOOKS that may give you some real insight into this problem.

  • Sometimes the best way to battle depression is to work on your self esteem. Here is a free test that will help you identify the areas you need to work on. I recently took this test. It's an eye-opener! Here's my full review.

I also want to give you some scriptures for depression and depression hurt from the amplified Bible that you can rely on to give you hope. Just keep REPEATING them so you start BELIEVING them:

Psalm 3:3 But You, oh Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

Psalm 40:1-3 I waited patiently and expectantly for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me out of a horrible pit (a pit of tumult and of destruction), out of the miry clay (froth and slime), and set my feet upon a rock, steadying my steps and establishing my goings. And He has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many shall see and fear (revere and worship) and put their trust and confident reliance in the Lord.

Isaiah 60:1 Arise (from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you - rise to a new life)! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!

Psalm 31:7-8 I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy and steadfast love, because You have seen my affliction, You have taken note of my life's distresses, and You have not given me into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a broad place.

And finally...here is a prayer for depression that you can say over and over. PRINT it AND PRAY it so you can start moving forward:

    Print and Pray

Oh Lord, as I sit here in the middle of all my mess, I don't

have much strength or energy to pray. But I'm lifting up my head and my eyes to You because I know deep in my heart that You have the power to do all things. I believe that You want me to be happy and healthy more than I do. And I know you have a good plan for my life.

God, as I bring you my pain, please turn it into something good. Please heal me. Your Word says that ALL things work together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. Let my healing be a testimony to all the GREAT things you do every day.

I just raise my head to thank you Lord. Thank you for hearing me. Thank you for loving me enough to take care of me. And thank you for showing me what I need to do to feel better.

I ask and receive everything in Jesus' name.

    AMEN!
