Judged before God?
by: Anonymous

is true I will be condemned before God if I remarry after divorce, no matter what circumstances? I divorced my ex husband due to infedility. I am now a Christian who wants to please Him and follow his Word. I am currently living with my boyfriend and my children. We want to repent and get married. I need guidance.

there's always help

Hi Remarriage,

Most situations like this are unique in that the backgrounds of the people involved are tangled into the story. There is no way to give you a solid, firm answer.

I strongly encourage you to go see your pastor. He/She knows both of you and your situation. He/she is in a much better position to help you come to a decision about this.

If you don't have a pastor, I suggest you find a strong Christian church and get to know the pastor. It's going to come in handy...trust me.

Blessings,

Karen

Remarriage

My boyfriend has been single for about 20 yrs. His wife devorced him after 14 yrs of marriag after he had been unfaithful with someone else.
He has recently given his heart to the Lord and truely repented. We would like to consider a life together howevr with both of us Christians now we fear that we can not get married since he has a living wife even though she has remarried also.

A loving God

I believe God loves and wants us to to happy and have peace. If you have prayed about saving your marriage and still ended up in divorce and you had no choice in it. Then I believe God would want you to have a second chance.

But, frankly even it was your fault, and you have asked for forgiveness - I know that God loves us and knows we need him all the time to be kept on track so to speak. For me personally its always been God's love, forgiveness and eternal life that makes it possible to through all the difficulties that you go through life.

The best thing is for your to pray to God, and he will show you the way.

The hardest choice
by: Karen

This has to be one of the most difficult questions I've received. I can't honestly say I have the answer to this one.

One one hand, the Bible is pretty clear about divorce. God hates divorce. But, on the other hand, God is REALLY big on giving second chances.

Look at Joyce Meyer. God is using Joyce to preach all over the world. She runs a world wide ministry. She is divorced from her first husband who she married very young. He ran around on her, abandoned her, and left her on her own.

She then met her current husband, who is a man of God, and he helps her run the financial and administrative part of their ministry. So is God ticked about Joyce remarrying? It sure doesn't seem to be the case.

There are also different interpretations of divorce and remarriage in different denominational groups. The Catholic perspective is completely different than the Protestant perspective.

Personally, I have no problem with remarrying, as long as you have God's peace about the situation AND you've done all you can to save the first marriage, AND you've taken the time to learn from it so you don't make the same mistakes again.

Blessings,

Karen
