Empty-Nest Syndrome ... Where Do You Start?

Getting stuck in the empty-nest syndrome is less than exciting. Trust me! I was right there with you. But only for awhile.

I know there are a ton of you out there who are currently going through this because I hear from many of you on a regular basis. The questions about how to get through it and how to build a life for yourself now that being a mom isn't at the forefront and mostly, how to rebuild your marriage now that it's just you and hubby.

Taking the time to find out what God has planned for you in this stage of your life takes a commitment from you. God had the plan all worked out a long time ago and He wants to show it to you. But you have to commit to spending time with God on a regular basis so He can start showing you what He has in mind.

That doesn't mean He's going to sit with you at the kitchen table and lay out the plan so you can see it all. Rather, He's waiting for you to take the first step toward Him so He can reveal it to you one step at at time.

I know. It sure feels like it would easier if you could just get rid of all the pain and anguish now so you could move on with your life. But trust me, God's way is much better.

The good news is that there are lots of Christian women who have made it through the empty-nest syndrome successfully. You've adapted and changed and you're finding more happiness than you thought was possible. Here's some of the things I did to get through it.

And now it's your turn! Here's your chance to help those from the first group. It's time to step up and be a blessing. Tell your story. Give some examples of what you tried and what worked.

Tell us what you got!
