Family Pets

by Pam
(Tennessee)

Our dog is 17 and going downhill fast. We will probably have to have him put to sleep very soon. I need healing scripture for my children as well as myself. He is very special to us. This will be hard on them.

Words of Comfort
by: Karen

Hi Pam,

It is always tough to lose a family pet, isn't it?

Here are some scriptures that offer comfort:

Psalm 27:5

Psalm 31:7

Psalm 57:2-3

Psalm 62:1-2

Psalm 119:50

Psalm 138:7-8

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

2 Corinthians 4-17-18

Pam, I wish you and your family all the best.

Blessings,

Karen

losing a pet.
by: Shirley Peter

I know how you feel. They are members of our family and we love them like we do all of the family. I have had many and lost many beloved pets and currently have one that would break my heart if she were to die suddenly.
But all of my other pets lived a good, and sheltered life. I grieved for them, yes, but it is worse when they are taken from you at a young age.
I am sorry that I do not know any scripture that applies to grieving for pets, but I belief that it is like any other grief. We all have to go through it and you cannot protect your children from the hurt. It will pass and you will remember the good time you had with your beloved dog. God bless. You will get through it. Shirely.
