Finances/purpose in life

by Ted
(Seattle)

I have been such a fool with the resources that God has given me...he has given me alot! I have wasted so much money and so much time! I fear that everything in my life is in danger now! God put good people in my life, people I could have learned from if only my eyes had been open and I would have humbled my self. I have been incredibly selfish and foolish...I cannot believe my stupidity! If I had understood the principle of stewardship I would not be in the mess that I am in now: I fear for my son"s safety! I have no purpose or direction in my life...I have wasted so much! I truely understand now that all money does indeed come from God...I have "flushed" my talent(s) down the toilet! I had plenty of money to accomplish the things that I needed to do but I pursued my own selfish gratifitions instead! If I could only have back the last ten years of my life I could have done great things! Do you think that God could or would restore me?: I honestly do not recieve any gratification from material things anymore...I was much happier when I owned much less! I fully understand now what God means now by it is better to be content with a little than miserable with a lot! I know this sounds silly but i wish I could win the lottery and BIG but not for my own personal gratification...I"d like to something selfless with the money...I am trapped in a situation that I do not know how to handle...I am truely serious about this! If God would trust me...I would love to do something for him...to serve him...I know this sounds foolish but you do not know the level of stupidity in which I have handled God's resources...do you think God would do this for me?

Finances/purpose in life

Ted,

I understand your words about finances, allowing precious resources to dwindle and seeking one's purpose in life.

My husband and I went through several years of hard times and we finally reached the point where we got scared and then with God's help, turned our lives around.

You can do this too, because I read your words and I sense that you want to make your life better and with purpose and be free of guilt.

That is where Christ comes in and when you turn to him for forgiveness, with a repentent heart and want to totally change the way you're going, He will show you a better way--financially, physically, mentally and spiritually.

Don't give up but turn your life over to Him and watch the wonders He will perform for you!

God Bless,

Your Christian Finances

Hi Ted,

Everybody has messed up their finances at one time or another. We're all guilty of seeking self gratification instead of making right financial choices. So Ted, I think we all understand.

You should take heart in knowing that God is always willing to give you a clean slate. You must start from where you are today. You can't go back and undo your decisions. If we could, there would be a whole herd of people rushing back to undo their mistakes too!

When you make a commitment to a giving lifestyle, it means you look for ways to be an actual giver. Yes, it means tithing on your money, but it also means you actively seek ways to be a blessing to other people.

Giving must come from your heart, Ted. Not because you feel guilty about past mistakes, but out of gratitude for all that God has done and will be doing for you in the future.

It is so great that you see your mistakes and want to make things better by doing the right things. It is a true sign of a changed heart.

When you said you'd love to win the lottery so you could really do something big, it made me want to ask you, "What are you doing with what you have now?"

God needs to see He can trust you with what you have now, before He gives you any more. Every time you give from your heart, you're planting a seed that will produce a harvest sometime in your life.

Ted, you truly can make a difference in somebody else's life. You can be a true giver. Start from where you are and God will honor your steps.

Blessings,

Karen
