gettin married

I have issues:I wanted to marry the mother of my kids who was recently saved. But Im not saved though. We have been together for 10 yrs. and I love her with all my heart.She is scared I will pull her away from church, which is not or never will be my intention. I knew she was a woman of God when I first met her but my love for her keeps growing. I even asked God was she the one for me but I dont know if he heard me or not...What should I do???

Nothing to lose and everything to gain

Hi Jay,

I can hear how difficult this is for you. The reason this woman is pulling away is because she's choosing to put God first in her life. Yup, I know. It's hard to hear.

One of the things that is VERY difficult for a Christian is what the Bible calls "yoking to unbelievers". The Bible says don't do it. So if this woman is reluctant it's because even though you love her and even have children with her, she knows that if she pursues a permanent relationship with you, she's going to have to go against what she says she believes, whether you intend for this to be the case or not.

Right now you're in a no win situation. I am curious, though. If you say you are not saved, then why did you pray? Is there something in you that really does want to know more about God? Are you hoping that maybe God really is out there and hears you?

Jay, God heard every word you spoke. He wants you to be happy MORE than you do. Can you imagine a God like that? He has a plan for your life that is better and will make you happier than you've ever dreamed. But God is a gentleman. He will never get involved in your life unless you ask.

So Jay, at this point, what is it exactly that you have to lose?
