For Candace
by: Zoe Andrea Onah

Hi Candace

Thanks for your question. Recently I cleared out some stuff from my wardrobe (or closet as I think Americans call it). I had to make some brutal decisions. There were some stuff in it that I had really liked at one time but to be honest I had not worn them in a while. But the exercise was much more than a physical one, in the sense that I was communicating 'spiritually' too that I wanted to make room for some new clothes. After I cleared my closet, it looked bare. But since then I have had some really nice dresses fill in the space. And guess what? I do not even miss the stuff I cleared out or can even remember what they were!
Sometimes in life we have to make decisions that set things in motion in order to bring in new things. God said He will do something new in our lives (Isa 43:19). We must have faith that when we release something that is unprofitable in our lives, we can then be in a position to receive from God. A farmer/gardener prunes his plants so that it yields fruit.
Candace, I think it may be time to let go of your ex now. You will be able to release him once you set your mind that this is your decision. Dwelling on the past, good or bad, unfortunately, won't help you.
Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in this journey. As He does, in the end, you will be glad you took this step. Take that step today!
May God bless you
Zoe

Your thoughts?
by: Candace

What if you go to church with that ex?
He is a deacon in the church who got another woman pregnant, stopped talking to me, flirts with other women, etc.
And he's one of the Pastor's favorites.

I have seriously contemplated leaving the church and finding a new church home.....

It is hard to completely cut ties when I have to see him every time I go to church. Also, since our church is pretty small, we all hang out together...

Clear out the old for the new!
by: Emma

Engaging article!
Memories hold you to the past- Paul said In Philippians 3v14"This one thing I do, Forgetting all that is past,(failures and successes), I press forward to goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
Definitely a collector's item

Thank you

Thank you for the fantastic article. We are burdened by yesteryears that we carry around as if we need the proof that those yesterdays did take place. I agree, we should seek to define ourselves by where we are going rather than where we have been. God bless you sister!
