God Given Authority

by Margaret Wright
(Sydney, NSW, Australia)

As believers let us examine God’s Word about our God given authority in the Name of Jesus Christ over the works of the enemy. We have only one enemy – the devil.

Eph. 1: 17-23 shows us the how by the mighty power of God Christ has been raised from the dead and has been positioned at the Right Hand of God in heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world but also in that which is to come. All things have been put under His Feet and gave Him to be Head over all things to the Church that is His Body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.

Eph. 2: 1-10 shows us as believers in the Body of Christ our position in Christ. We who were dead in sins have been quickened us together with Christ and saved us by His grace.
We have been raised up together with Christ and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus to show the exceeding riches of His grace through Christ in all the ages; even in this age that we are living in..

This means that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places at God’s Right Hand –
the place of all power that has been given to Him. Since all things are put under His Feet – all things are under our feet. The feet are not attached to the Head but to the body. As the Body of Christ we are to carry out His will and fulfill His purposes for the glory of God. The Head depends upon the body to do His Father’s will with the power of the Holy Spirit

Jesus Christ was manifested in the flesh and by His suffering, death and resurrection He destroyed the works of the devil (1 John 3: 8)
Jesus Christ took the keys of death and hell from the devil (Rev. 1: 18).
Jesus Christ has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into His Kingdom.
The power of the enemy over us has been broken and he has no right over us except what we allow him.
We have been accepted in the Beloved and we have been given authority over all the works of the devil. (Luke 10: 19)
The devil is an eternally defeated foe and in the Name of Jesus Christ and we are commanded to cast out devils, preach and teach all that Christ has taught, heal the sick and set the captives free (Mathew 29:18-20 and Mark 126: 15-18).

Christ cannot do this for He is now seated at the Father’s Right Hand Bodily and we as His Body in this world are to do His Father’s will in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit cannot to this for us for He has no Body and we must do the works and He will help us to achieve God’s will in this world.

We are to reign in life by the grace of God and the gift of righteousness through Jesus Christ.
We are blood covenant people and stand on redemption ground (Eph. 1: 7)

We have authority over all evil spirits in the Name of Jesus Christ (Mark 16: 15-18)

We have been given an armor to clothe ourselves. (Eph. 6: 10- 18)

We are told to submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee. (James 4: 17)

We are told to give no place to the devil (Eph.4: 27)
We have spiritual weapons to pull down strongholds and barriers placed by the enemy. (2 Cor. 10: 1-6 and Eph. 2: 10- 16)

We overcome the enemy through the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Rev. 12: 11)

Therefore let us exercise our God given authority and advance the purposes of God for us, for our family for our fellowship and for our Nation.
Only we have authority over all of the works of the devil as redeemed believers.
(Luke 10: 19)

Believe God’s Word and act on it and grow in the knowledge of God and be full of the power of the Spirit. In the Name of Jesus Christ bring to nought the works of darkness wherever he is at work. JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!!

May God be glorified through His Church as she walks in holiness and righteousness getting THE Gospel out and hastening the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, for Christ has said that THE GOSPEL must first be preached in all the world for a witness before He comes back!

He wants us to GO INTO ALL THE WORLD and now we could do that through the Internet/computers touching lives in many places in the world with THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM.

Let us also be aware that there is another GOSPEL being preached that is bloodless and so it has no power to set the captives free from the enemy’s power!

We need to believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son was shed to deliver us from the devil’s dominion over us!! Glory to God!! (Col. 1: 13, 14; 1 John 3: 8)

The risen and glorified Jesus Christ said to John on the Isle of Patmos,
FEAR NOT; I AM THE FIRST AND THE LAST. I AM HE THAT LIVETH, AND WAS DEAD; AND BEHOLD, I AM ALIVE FOR EVERMORE, AMEN; AND HAVE THE KEYS OF HELL AND OF DEATH. (Rev. 1: 17-18)

Beloved brothers and sisters let us go in this God-given authority through the Name of Jesus Christ and heal the sick and set the captives free, as we are workers together with Him!! Let us “occupy” till He comes in winning souls for the Lord Jesus Christ.

Good job!
by: Karen Wheeler

Margaret, this is exactly what we were hearing from a Kenneth Hagin video that we watched as a church. I still can hear him say, "FAAARR above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world but also in that which is to come. That's where we are!

Blessings to you from Bloomington IN!!

Reminder.
by: Rachael Smith

Dear Aunty Margaret,
Its a good reminder for us about the power & strength we have in the Blood of Christ. It reminded me once again that I am a Christian. A Believer... & not just that... but one bought with the saving & healing Grace through the shed blood of Christ. It reminds me of how we must exercise our faith in our day-to-day living over & over, if we call ourselves believers & if we want to grow spiritually in Christ.
Thank You!
Love & God Bless Always,
Rachael

Amen
by: Georgeta

Amen, Margaret. There are so many people these days that are luke warm, and they are afraid of the devil. If only they would know the authority that God gave them, through the power of the blood. If only we would all fight the devil together, as one, in body and spirit, having no fear.
Thank you for your article. I will send it to my friends too.

Cannot understand some of this
by: Anonymous

I believe the Spirit of God can command a body when He wants one. I also believe in predestination. I am not sure about a lot of things said here and really need to think on it sand find Scripture.

Who & Why?
by: cgeewriter

First, I do not disagree with the content, but I am wondering who and why you wrote this?
I felt "preached at" and that tempted me to stop reading it. As a reader I am more interesting in your own words rather than reading quote after quote of scripture. I know scripture well & love it, but would rather have references available to look up as I "hear" your words, "see" your illustrations regarding those scriptures.
Show me! Don't tell me. cg
