A Good Parenting Tip is Worth GOLD!

So....you need a good parenting tip because your wonderful child is making you completely nuts....

You mean your kids aren't perfect angels? And, like me, there are times when you feel like pulling your hair out?

My kids are older, in fact, they are technically adults. But that doesn't seem to deter them from doing things that pretty much make you want to take immediate control of their lives and run every aspect!

Every parent can use a good parenting tip on a regular basis. There's no doubt about it. That's why I decided to check out Ron Huxley's Parenting Toolbox.

The first thing that struck me was the section on discipline. It said, "Is your child wild, willful, or whiney? Find the parenting tools you need to get children to mind without losing yours."

Yup, that sounded better than good. So I clicked in and found some of these articles: (This is about a third of the whole list)

  • Ways of getting homework done

  • Teaching your kids responsibilities

  • The Attention-Seeking Child

  • Parent's Report Card Time

  • When Little Kids Curse!

  • When Dad's Away

  • Bedtime and Kids: Is The Best Discipline Spanking?

  • But He’s an Angel at Home

  • Sanity Tips for Eating Out With Kids

  • The Importance of Routines

  • The Better Behavior Wheel

  • When your child won't listen!

  • Discipline and Punishment of Boys

  • Don't Make Me Start Counting (Verbal Warnings)

Even though I'm already beyond some of the above issues, there are a lot of them that still apply. And yeah, I was doing some of the stuff the articles say you're NOT supposed to be doing. It looks like I have lots more to read!

Ron Huxley is a Licensed Family Therapist who is putting a lot of great stuff out there. He sees these problems every day and has seen what works.

But I was VERY surprised that he's got 3,000 articles on this site. Many are written by Ron, but he's also incorporated articles from experts in each area.

Ron deals extensively with marriages that are troubled, so he's able to help tremendously in this critical area.

There is also a whole section on babies and toddlers AND a section on nontraditional families. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a section that doesn't give you a good parenting tip on any given day.

I particularly like the section on teenagers. If ever there was a need for a positive parenting tip.....at least there are more parents than just me that struggle just trying to understand them, let alone parent them! I also like that Ron takes questions from his members, and he provides online support groups with expert moderators that have even more great material. Let's face it, almost every parent is guilty of ineffective parenting at one time or another. Getting a good parenting tip at an opportune moment can make all the difference.

If I had one criticism, it is that there is just SO MUCH material that it seems a bit overwhelming at first. But when you get into it all, it flows well and you're able to find exactly what you're looking for.

This is a great find. It is definitely worth a look.

Help for Out of Control Teens. Sometimes your teenagers can get really out of control. Here is another resource that offers hope for both them and you.

Sometimes having someone from the outside take a look at your situation can make all the difference. This particular book is written by someone who works with out of control teens every day. He provides a GREAT ebook, a parent support group, and one on one conversations directly with him. You have nothing to lose and only your sanity to gain. It's definitely worth a look.
