Guidance for Recent Stay at home Mom

Hello, I have recently been battling with why when I praise the Lord for certain blessings, no sooner than I praise my heart out, the blessings turn bad. Two recent examples are my job and marriage. I was praising God with all my might for blessing me with such a great job and keeping my family safe during this recession. A week before I returned to work from maternity leave, they let me know that I was being let go. I was also praising God for changing my husband's heart and praising him for keeping the harmony in my marriage. The next day, we had a major fight and family members got involved which only made the situation worse. I almost gave up and still wonder if my praises are even being heard. I feel sad and depressed but still feel blessed. Any advice?

Blessings of Life
by: Karen

Many years ago I used to go through the same thing. I was afraid to thank God for anything because I just knew it would turn out wrong. That was a very tough way to live.

God calls us out into the "deep". That means we need to come to the place where we fight through that stage and praise God anyway. We fight through, not because we want God's hand, but because we want to see His face.

This was the next stage of my walk with God. When I decided to praise God no matter what was happening in my life, it was like building a wall of faith around me.

Show God that you're going to praise Him even if everything around you is screaming about how bad your life is. Show Him that you want His love more than you want things.

Then you can break through to the "deep". As you build your wall of faith around your life, things will get better. God honors your faith, and He will honor your desire to come out to the "deep" with Him.

Be blessed,

Karen

Keep looking up

I know how you feel. It seems the more we are thankful and happy with the blessings that God has given us the enemy steps in and takes it away. The only encouragement I can give you is that God will take whatever bad things happen in your life and turn them for good and His glory. God knows how things are going to turn out, you must have the courage to trust Him that He will make it good. Read about Job and remember what he went through. God bless and just keep looking the Lord.
