Healing

by Chan Hui Li Annie
(Singapore)

God has done a lot of healing in my life - emotionally, physically, spiritually as well as in my relationships.

Right now, I would like to just focus on my physical healing. The most recent physical healing took place in February this year. In late February, I was on my way back to my bedroom when all of a sudden, I dropped the cup that I was holding. So I just bent down to pick it up. The first time round, I managed to pick it up. However, the cup again dropped. This time round, I tried to pick it up again but could not, because I just collapsed suddenly. I tried to get up but could not. All of a sudden, I found myself unable to move my left hand. In addition, I also found myself unable to speak (words just couldn't come out) when I tried to call for help. But all this while, I was conscious.

After sometime, probably 10 minutes or so, my sister saw me lying on the floor. She had initially thought that I was playing a fool (My goodness! Why would I want to play a fool???)and shouted at me. It was a while later that she sensed something was seriously wrong. So, I was rushed to the hospital. On my way to the hospital, the ambulance staff told me that I could be suffering from stroke. It was one of those moments in my life that I couldn't believe what I heard. However, the ambulance staff's words were later confirmed by the doctor attending to me. I would rather die than to live the rest of my life being a hemiplegic!

While lying on the hospital bed, I suddenly found myself able to move my left leg and then my left hand. I was also able to speak though the words were incoherent. The attending doctor was dumbfounded. Thank God that the doctor had the wisdom to inject a certain kind of medicine into my body as soon as she realised that I could move. Shortly after, however, I realised that I couldn't move again. But thank God that my paralysis was just temporary.

Dear Annie,

This is a great story. I rejoice with you that with God's help and the medicince, your paralysis was temporary.
All my best wishes,
