I found this book full of great stuff. Joyce Meyer is one of my favorite authors. She has an amazing way of talking to me on my own level. She cuts through a lot of the superficial nonsense and gets to the point. But even better than that, she not only tells me what to do, she tells me HOW to do it. There is a huge difference between those two things for me.
As Joyce teaches, she means what she says literally. If you learn and follow the specific steps outlined in the book, you will learn the process.
Hearing from God doesn't have to be the complicated process so that so many people make it into. It starts with an open heart, and from there it develops into an ongoing relationship with God that gets deeper and more intimate, the longer you practice.
Once you get used to talking to God, it becomes much easier to hear from Him. It's as if a door is opened that always appeared to be shut before.
Joyce also talked about so many everyday things that seem to get in the way of successful communication between me and God. She showed me how to recognize the obstacles, and what to do to eliminate them.
I think my favorite part of this book is the questions page prior to each chapter. If you really look at the questions, it's as if she looks inside of you and she can see the questions written there. But the best part is that she answers them in the chapter to follow.
This is a great read for anyone who wants to know how to get this part of their faith journey started or strengthened.
