I fear I have no purpose in life.

by K.
(Bronx, NY)

Lately, I have been so bored with life. I know that's wrong to say, but its how I feel. I just think to myself like wow, I'm 26 yrs old, like is this it? Am I going to live out my life like this? Is this what God has for me? Or is it me not pushing hard enough to better myself? Next month I'm enrolling in CUNY online classes to major in media communications. Everytime I think of it I get excited because I've always dreamt of working for a tv, radio or magazine. That's my passion. I just feel that since I'm already 26 years old and am now going to enroll, that its too late for me. Please, any advise would be appreciated.
Thank you,
K.

Turn on the Light
by: Karen

Hi K.

Is it too late for what? At 26 years old, I don't really think it's too late for pretty much anything.

K, take some time to read my answers to some of the other questions on this page about this topic. You'll see that I recommend a couple of things.

First, get your relationship with God to a place where you are hearing from Him on a regular basis. If this concept is foreign to you, that means you may need to start from the beginning. Turn your life over to God and start absorbing His Word. Listen to Christian music and surround yourself with positive, uplifting stuff.

And second, find ways to be a blessing everywhere you go. I know, at 26 years old you might think that you don't have much time to focus on others. You have much to do with your own life.

The truth is, it's when you're offering yourself to others that God can speak to you. When you plant seeds in the lives of others, God will bring a harvest into your own life. That's just how His system works.

And don't forget, K., God gave you your dreams and desires. He wouldn't have put them there unless He had a very good reason. Start seeking Him. Ask Him to reveal His purpose to you and trust me, He'll find you.

Blessings,

Karen
