I Need Help for Empty Nest

by Lucy K.
(Boston, MA)

I know how it feels to see your kids leave home. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it because I feel so empty.

I'm hoping my husband and I can find our way back to the relationship we used to have before we had kids. But it seems so long ago I don't know if that's possible.

I appreciate the ideas you shared, and would really like to see what else has worked for other people.

Some Advice
by: Sylvee

I don't know how old you are, probably in your mid forties. But you and your husband can find things that you both like to do or even come up with something that you both never was interested in doing.

Crafts, cooking, jewelery making, it sounds old fashioned but they are fun. How about starting a newsletter among your friends where in each edition you share things your children used to do when they were little. How about reading a book together and then having a review as you go along.

Of course pray, together and tell God about your situation and ask Him to give you some ideas. If you both work how about every other Saturday or once a month go to the hospital and visit some lonely elderly person or child.
