Knowing God's Voice

I still do not know the voice of God. I have been saved for about 8 years now and though I have felt the Holy Spirit, His voice - not yet. I realize somethings are from Him when I repeatedly get a biblical word from different sources, sources that know not of what I am going through. As for His voice, how will I know?

It's all about practice

Hi Pam,

If you look at some of the other questions on this page you'll see my answers to your question. But just remember, learning to hear from God is a learned skill. It starts by building a relationship with God. It means learning about Him and getting to know His character.

If you're willing to invest the time in that relationship you will soon recognize His voice.

Living in this world sure doesn't make it easy to hear God sometimes. There is so much going on and the pace is so nuts you practically have to hold on for dear life just to keep from getting swept away with it all.

When you take the time to really get to know God by reading His word and other great Christian books, you see how He acts and what He's really about. You see how He acted with all the people in the Bible. It definitely gives you a clear picture of who He is.

Once you learn some of this, then you can start seeing how it applies to your life. Then you can start seeing how God ALWAYS follows His Word. So when you find yourself in a real life situation and you sense something deep on the inside of you, it's most likely God. See how that works?
