Finding Life Balance and Purpose

Right People, Right Place, Right Plan

by Jentezen Franklin

Karen's Book Review

Life balance is more than just the right amount of work and play all neatly arranged on a schedule. It's understanding the fine line between living your life for you and only you, and discerning God's plan for you.

I recently finished reading a new book by Jentezen Franklin called, "Right People, Right Place, Right Plan". According to the author, God knows your life purpose but He gives you an actual plan. Finding the right life balance means you not only take the time to seek it out, but that you fully commit some of your life's resources to make it happen once you see the plan and know you're moving in the right direction.

One part of this book that particularly caught my attention was where the author was talking about discerning God's will and what happens when you try to force it to happen. Here is a part of that discussion:

Have you ever tried to put a puzzle together? Sometimes, a puzzle piece can look right, but it doesn't fit properly. It has the right appearance, but it will not fit into the empty space without force. If you have ever tried to force a piece to fit a space for which it was not designed, you know just one misplaced piece destroys the finish. It causes other pieces to become disjointed, and it will leave a hole someplace else. Every piece of a puzzle is connected, just like the pieces of our lives. We were created for a particular purpose, and just one piece out of place can greatly affect all the other pieces of our lives.

Does that say it all or what?

One additional part of the book that caught my eye was about the importance of using prayer as a discernment tool. I believe prayer is highly underrated these days, when in all reality, it is a very successful way to find the right life balance and purpose for you.

This book is written in easy to understand language. It is a great way to start your journey in this area.
