marriage problems

My complaining has seemed to push my husband over the edge and he has told me he doesn't want to be with me anymore. He says he only says that because I make him mad by complaining all the time but it hurts more and more every time he says it. I am a very insecure person with low self-esteem and trying to find my purpose but it is hard when all I am focused on is my marriage and getting it better. I need advice because I don't want to push my husband away anymore.

Be encouraged
by: Anonymous

I am praying for you and your husband. Be encouraged and know that no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper and that God does hear our prayers and he will answer.

I would also recommend the book The Five Love Languages. It will help with all of your relationships.

Making a Change
by: Karen

Making changes in your life is NEVER an easy process. After all, you feel like you are who you are and how do you stop being that person? How do you undo all the things that have led to your low self esteem? How do you just stop the bad habit of constant complaining?

You are not alone in your quest for change. But first, please know that you can't change yourself simply by setting your mind to it and forcing yourself to be something you're not. It won't work.

The only person who can truly change you from the inside out is God. He can do the work in you that will result in a better marriage and a better life.

However, having said that, you also have a part to play. Your willingness to submit to His leading and His directions are the first step.

The second one is understanding God does not put every thought into your head. All of your complaining thoughts and other negatives are definitely not GOD. He is never negative.

You CAN control your thoughts. Simply refuse to let them be in your mind.

When you control your thoughts, you control your actions. You move toward what you think about. So if your mind is constantly focused on nothing but negative stuff, that's what you can expect will come out of your mouth.

In my book, A Change of Heart, I will show you how you got to the place you are today. I'll show you how all the thoughts you've ever had have led up to the exact spot you're in.

But the better part of the book is showing you the tools to make real and lasting changes that are permanent.

There is no magic wand that can change you instantly. But God definitely has given you some tools that will make the difference between moving forward in your marriage in a positive way or staying stuck in the same behavior patterns.

You can do this.

Be blessed,

Karen
