I am going to pray that God works things out for you and him to get married. God will bless you when your ways please him.

The Blessings of Marriage
by: Karen

I wish I had some comforting words for your situation. But unfortunately, you aren't in a position to win, no matter how you look at this.

No, God doesn't consider you to be married so you aren't covered by all the blessings that come from being married.

Unfortunately, if you've lived with your boyfriend for 10 years and now he says he just wants to be friends, you are setting yourself up for more pain and loss if you continue to hold on to something that is over.

After 10 years, your boyfriend should know whether he wants to make a life with you through the marriage commitment. And you're hearing his answer.

When you live together outside of marriage, you put up a barrier between you and God. As much as God wants to bless you, it is very difficult to get over that barrier because you're living contrary to what God tells us to do.

I know my take on this isn't very popular these days. In fact, I've been accused of judging people and creating discord by simply stating my beliefs. But the truth is, that judgment was done a long time before I came along.

Jesus did the judging about living together outside of marriage when He was on the earth. I simply am following His lead.

So my best advice is for you to try to move on with your life. Repent of the sins in your life, immerse yourself in God's Word, and look for ways to be a blessing to somebody else.

God knows the desires of your heart and when He sees that you're putting Him first, He will send the right person into your life who will commit to you in marriage.

Blessings,

Karen
