My husband left me and I am asking God to restore our marriage.

by Sheila
(Vernon, CT)

We've only been married for 2 years and my husband left me and he has shut me out completely. I told him out of anger that I wish I never married him and he left. I feel in my heart that we both have not had the opportunity to have the marriage we both truly desired and we both love the Lord. I am not sure how this happened but I was not happy working 1:30 - 10:00 in the evenings and I was truly stressed and I believe I took my anger out on my husband and he perhaps had enough. My husband is a very loving and nice gentlement and an awesome provider! I am not sure what to do. He has not filed for a divorce so I don't know what to expect. I've been praying and praying for God to heal his precious heart but I have realize that I need help as well with the way I speak to my husband...so I am asking God to heal me as well. Words do hurt. Everyone in church keeps asking where he is and I am so devasted I am not sure what to tell these people that are being a little nosey. We have both been married before. It truly hurts and I need advice on what I should do.

Thank you.

Mine is not easy
by: Anonymous

Mine is one the edge too but I am trusting God to restore everything. I am trying to forgive my husband for cheating, abuse, and all it's a choice but I this love this man and I feel good can completely change him plus he is a minister so you know its really deep. The enemy hates marriage. He come to try to end it but pray pray pray with faith and believeing. Fast you do right regardless yes it is hard very but I refuse to move until God says so. We dont know God's purpose we just have to be patient and wait on God which many of us struggle to do. Dont give up cause God can save and restore your marriage. Pray the demons out, work on it leave the past behind and just trust God.

I marriage my best friend and neighbor. I always love him before he knew it. i am a minister ,i beleive that God told me to marriage him . we got marriage and he left within 4 months, then he came back and left again in five months. I also am beleive God to restore our love, friendship and relationship. How long are we suppose to wait. He will not talk to me or anythings . Remember we live right in front of each others. My heart ache for him but i am waiting on the power of God to bring us back together again. He said he divorcing very soon. I found out he was talking to other women .I understand how you feel. Let's pray one for others. May God keep your mind, body and soul in His loving divine will.

No such thing as perfect marriage
by: Karen

Hi Sheila,

You don't say how old you are. My husband and I were very young when we married and those first couple of years were not pretty.

When you take your marriage vows the Word says you become one flesh. It's easy to say the words but it's the actual "becoming" where the trouble starts.

Sheila, find a Christian marriage counselor who can help you sort out all the issues. You can't change your husband, but, with God's help, you can change the things about you that are contributing to the problems in your marriage.

When you ask God to help you change, it's never an easy time. But it is always time well spent. God will start showing you bit by bit and issue by issue where you need to adjust and change.

Invest in some GREAT Christian marriage books that talk about how to truly put God in the center of your marriage.

Sheila, I'm sure the problems in your marriage can be traced to both you and your husband.

But once you realize that you can only change the ones that involve you, then perhaps your husband will see how hard you're trying to do your part. Perhaps he will see that maybe he has some things to work on too.

We have a Christian marriage counselor right here on our site. He will give you his opinion for free. Just click on the marriage counseling tab to the left.

Be blessed,

Karen
