Organized Through the Winter

Now that the Holidays are over and the children are back to school, I can almost give a sigh of relief. Yes, I had a wonderful time with family and friends. The Christmas tree is already gone and the decorations with it. It is now time to get back into our normal routine.
The snow, cold and ice changes our time schedule as we must get up a little earlier, to start out a little earlier to get to our destinations on time.
To help us through the winter season, there are a few organizing tips to keep everything running smoothly.
First, it is good to really use the plan of preparing the night before. Get everyone’s clothes, shoes, books, backpacks, gloves, etc. together and in an easy place of access.
Second, waking up a few minutes earlier than everyone else is a good idea to get a glimpse of the local news and take a peak outside. Maybe it’s just a good day to decide to stay in.
If school is canceled or you just decide to keep everyone in, plan a few activities for the children to keep them entertained.
Also, keeping extra Kleenex or other tissue in the car is always a good idea on cold winter days.
Plan meals you can prepare in the Crock Pot or if you have an automatic timer on your oven use that so meals can be ready when you get home.
Upon arriving home, use the same process to keep hats, gloves, etc. together in a place of easy access.
Yes, it takes a little more time and extra planning to keep us on track through the winter months, but it is possible.
