A Prayer for Judgement
Saying a prayer for judgement, especially good judgement makes perfect sense. Everyone wants to think they have good judgement. People make hundreds of millions of decisions every day, and they do whatever is necessary to make themselves feel right about the decision they made.In fact, some people even do things after the fact to make sure they look justified in their original decision. They're so fearful about how they may be perceived by others that they'll do anything to avoid even the slightest hint that they might have made a wrong choice. How do we get tangled up in all that stuff? How do you know if you need a prayer for judgement? Is it easy to make right choices all the time? Making right decisions comes, first and foremost, from spending time with God. The more you learn about God's character and His will for your life, the more you're able to see right choices in front of you. Being "led by the Spirit" sounds like some kind of super spiritual exercise that only a few will master. But that is most certainly not the case. It does take practice. But learning to listen to that still, small voice inside can become as natural as breathing if you're willing to take the time to pay attention. Ask God to help by saying a prayer for judgement. Good judgement. Sound judgement.
I recently read a book, The Prayer of Solomon, that describes Solomon's story. Do you remember Solomon? He was the guy in the Bible that received this huge amount of wisdom because he chose wisdom rather than riches. What a concept... Solomn's prayer for judgement gave him everything he could ever want. He valued his relationship with God and the value of Christian judgement above all else. And a huge part of that relationship was his desire to seek God with all His heart. Of course, later in the story, Solomon ignored the still, small voice and things went downhill for him very quickly. The judgement of God was all too evident in his choice. I know there was a lesson in this book for me, and I suspect there may be one in there for you too.
Here is a Print & Pray Prayer for Judgement. Perhaps it will help you get started in this important area of your journey.Heavenly Father,You are so awesome and mighty. Thank you for listening to me. God, I want to be like Solomon was. I want Your wisdom. Please give me that wisdom in every decision I make. I want to do things according to Your will because I know Your plan for me is so much better than anything I could plan for myself. Help me move forward in Your wisdom. Help me be an example of perseverance and not be overwhelmed by life.
I receive it now, Lord. And I thank You for letting me come to You. Thank You for blessing me and mostly, thank You for loving me. I ask for this in Jesus' name. Amen!
