Praying For Me a Husband

by Stephanie C
(Dallas, TX)

How do you pray for you a husband? I'm in a relationship with someone I really love from the heart. I have had so many bad and trying relationships that now that I have someone that is active in the church and is a Godly man I just want it to be Heaven sent. How do I pray to know if this is what God has for me?

Pieces will fall in place
by: Karen

Hi Stephanie,

When you are in relationship with God, you're able to follow peace. That means your decisions just have a peace about them. You just know in your heart that it's right.

It's when you don't feel that peace and you do it anyway that you get into trouble. Trust me, I've ignored that feeling just to find myself in all sorts of hot water.

Looking back, I recognize that feeling of unease. I felt it clearly right before I did something really dumb. If I had followed it, I could've avoided such big headaches.

The trick is to look beyond your circumstances and your current relationship and focus on your relationship with God. Ask Him for His peace about what you're doing. If you get it, then I'd proceed. But if you get this queasy, uneasy feeling, then I would back off and keep praying for God to reveal the reasons.

I know it's not easy, especially if you have strong feelings for the other person, but if he's not right for you, then you do not want to go through a divorce.

All the best,

Karen
