Question

I assume that since your daughter is interested in being a nun, you must be Catholic, correct? If so, are you or have you ever been involved in the charismatic movement of the church?

My faith
by: Karen

Yes, I am and was born and raised Catholic. But no, in all honesty, I haven't been involved with the Charismatic movement in the church as far as its development or implementation.

I am very drawn to churches that are evangelical in nature. Although talking about this sort of thing as a Catholic doesn't exactly fit the mold, I find my heart and soul loving the true worship that comes from all that's Charismatic.

I've been to Catholic churches that use contemporary Christian music, are much more liberal in their practices and focus more on the message than the rituals. Those are the ones that attract me the most.

Now, I know all my Catholic friends who visit this site are probably ready to come to my house with torches and drive me into the night... :)

But over the years my heart has changed from focusing on the methods to focusing on the message. One's religion is simply their choice of how to worship. One's relationship is where the rubber meets the road. There is no substitute for that relationship.

Although I believe there are things you can do to help you build your relationship, I will never be in favor of any denomination who tries to replace that one on one relationship with a set of rules and regulations.

Blessings,

Karen
