I was a little leery when I started reading this book. I really hadn't read much Christian fiction, especially romance, so I wasn't sure how the authors would weave Christian concepts into the story.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. This story draws you right in as though you're sitting in the Baxter's living room listening to all the drama unfolding. Each of the family members have their own issues, just like in my family, or your family. (Of course, in my family, I don't think we would go so far as to put all the issues in print. It might be classified as too weird for normal reading.)
But what I especially liked is how the book shows the right way to handle family problems. BIG family problems. It's pretty rare to see people actually show their Christianity in their real lives these days. It's way too easy to get caught up in how things look around you instead of focusing on what God can do to help. It seems most people wait until they've exhausted themselves doing everything else and THEN they finally turn to God.
The end of this book flowed into the beginning of the next in the series, and of course, I'm already hooked.
I definitely recommend this book for anyone who would like to see what real life Christianity looks like in action.
