A Story about Religious Cults
The Black Cloister
by Melanie Dobson
Karen's Book Review
Religious cults are filled with secrecy and obscurity. That was certainly the case in this new book by Melanie Dobson, "The Black Cloister".
I loved the mystery and drama in this book. It was most definitely not boring.
The Black Cloister is the story of a woman searching for information about her birth mother. The journey takes her directly into the world of evil and all its ramifications.
I especially liked how the author showed God's love and power, even in the middle of real darkness. That's when God's light shines the brightest. It is unfortunate that sometimes it takes a real crisis before we see the light.
With all the noise in this world, sometimes it is very difficult to tell whether the voice you hear is God. There are voices from everywhere that lead people astray and it can be devastating when you make the decision to follow without making sure it's God's voice.
The Black Cloister is an example of what can happen when you decide to do what you want to do, regardless of the sound advice and counsel that God's trying to give you through the people around you.
Overall I liked this book very much. I will definitely look for future books by this author.
So now you'd like to get this book! Amazon lets you get either a new or used version. I especially like that feature.
