Showing respect for USA

What do you think of and individul who lives in the USA , has a green card form England, but always putting down the USA. Comparing what England has to offer versus the USA. I am an a American citizen and it frustrates me to the point I let this person have it today. I voiced that I did not appreciate them always putting The USA down.

Focus on the positive
by: Karen

There will always be negative people in our lives, unfortunately. Some people will always find something to complain about, even if they have been blessed.

It's sort of like the person who leaves one job, finds another, and then constantly complains how the old job was so much better. You just sort of feel like slapping them upside the head some times, you know?

I once facilitated a "building a positive self image" seminar. I told the people they needed to go 24 hours without ever saying a negative word about themselves or someone else for a full 24 hours. They couldn't do it. They were so accustomed to the complaining and whining that to stop cold turkey just couldn't happen for them.

Whining, complaining people are probably one of my worst pet peeves. If the person you're referring to wouldn't be complaining about this country, they'd find something else to complain about. For some it's a habit. A bad habit, nonetheless, but still a habit.

There is no point to arguing with them. In fact, most times, they live for stirring up conflict. So please don't take the bait. Just do your best to show them what it looks like to be a Christian. Talk positively as much as you can and pray that it rubs off on them.

Blessings,

Karen
