Spring Ahead and Get Organized

Being a Professional Organizer, I know it is just about that time. “What time?” you may ask. I’m glad you asked. It is time to organize for the spring. Yes, so far the snow is slowly melting and we are getting ready for the seasons to change. No more winter boots, gloves, scarves and hats. As we move into this new season, organization is important in order to be ready for the next winter season.
For the woman with a family, are the coats or boots going to be a good fit for the next year? If not, don’t store them to sort through when winter comes again. Prepare a donation bag now. If you have items that are too worn, throw them out now, along with all the socks and gloves that are without a match. As you go through the spring clothing, if some things will not fit this year like jackets or sweaters, they can go in this donation bag also. When all the clothing are stored, hung or put in the dresser, set up the date and time to give the bag away.
For those of us who do not have this particular chore, the system is still the same. It is time to look through the closet and see which coat, boots or hats did not get any wear this year. Do we have something we can donate? Do we have sweaters, coats or jackets that need repair? It is time now, before we put things away for another year to put everything in its’ proper place, either in the donation bag, the cleaners, tailors or in the garbage.
Set aside a day or a weekend to spring ahead and get organized!
