Tithing
by: Hair Gospel

Great post, we believe that what most Christians don't understand is that the issue of tithing is that it's not really about the money, but where your heart is for God. Do we really believe he can meet all of our needs or do we still need to control things a bit.

When we waiver over paying or not paying tithes, we are really waivering between our belief and faith that God is really the same God that resurected Jesus Christ.

So if we really believe the God of Abraham, Noah or Moses is real-release the money God has enabled you to earn. And watch him send supernatural assitance to you that the tithe money (you are pondering over to give) could never attain.

God loves us just as we are. He wants you to depend and expect from his heavenly resources. We are his amazing creation. Go to another faith level in Christ today!

The Ancient Practice of Tithing
by: Karen

Hi Elizabeth,

Tithing has been a subject of debate amongst religious leaders for a long time. You will get many answers, depending on who you ask.

My husband and I have tithed for many years. We do it because we think it's really important to "put your money where you mouth is."

Even though it is from the Old Testament, I see tremendous merit in showing God that He is a priority, even in our finances.

There are tons of great lessons that come from the Old Testament. It's true that when Christ came He "freed us from the law", and at that time, tithing was a law.

But there were many practices that continued long after Christ came. They still continue today because they have tremendous value and merit.

I recently finished a new book called, "Finding our way Again" by Brian Mclaren. It's a discussion about the value of many ancient practices and the unbelievably solid foundation they provide as we move on with life.

I consider tithing to be amongst those ancient practices.

Elizabeth, Malachi is the only place in the Bible where God says to prove Him. I believe He did that specifically because He knows just how much our money means to us.

Tithing, fasting, prayer.....they all have merit, even today. I think you and your husband will be amazed at God's faithfulness.

Blessings,

Karen

tithing

Elizabeth,

Excellent point! There are many references in the Bible on the importance of tithing. Several that come to mind are: Acts 20:35: "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive."

And from Luke 6: 38 "Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal, it shall be measured to you again."

Jesus, of course, spoke those words from Luke and when we give what we can in good faith, and making sure that it comes from the top of our funds, the good Lord will provide for us.

I have found for years that when my husband and I give what we can, with good faith and give from the top, our needs are always met. Sometimes it has been hard, especially when finances are rough but we keep giving, knowing that God will meet our needs. And, He is faithful, for He cares for all of us...

God Bless and I hope this information, helps.

In Faith,

Ann

Dear please keep tithing. The Lord will open up a window and pour you out a blessing that you will not have room enough to receive. Keep the faith and stay focused. God has and will continually bless you. Be encouraged and do not get weary for you will reap the blessing if you faint not. God is good.

Yes tithing is for today

Tithing is giving back some of what God has given to you. It is as important today as it ever was. Giving will never become an old practice especially giving back to God. When we tithe we become so blessed, don't miss out on the blessings.
