Trusting God ... Your Hardest Right Choice
Pieces of Silverby Maureen LangKaren's Book Review Where does it say that trusting God is easy? Where does it say that surrendering your plan to God feels good? I'm pretty sure you could look for many hours in the Bible and not find either of those statements. The truth is...surrendering your will and trusting God that His will is better, is one of the most difficult things you'll ever do. But is it the right choice? Will you be glad you did it? I recently finished reading the first in a new book series, "Pieces of Silver" by Maureen Lang. It is Christian fiction, but the underlying lesson is so relevant that it stands out like a sore thumb. The book is a story that takes place at the beginning of World War I. It covers all the great stuff......intrigue, espionage, romance........ But the message of trusting God no matter how things look.......it pretty much screamed out throughout the entire book. The Bible says you're supposed to walk by faith and not by everything you see happening in your life. The main characters in this book give you a GREAT example of how to do that. It's not that they didn't struggle, because they most certainly did. They searched for purpose, for truth, and for help to make right choices, just like you and I do every single day. The best part of the book is God showing how faithful He will be if you just give Him a chance. What an awesome book. A GREAT read.
