It isn't easy when you're waiting for God. How do get God's best in your life? How do you know if you're on the right path? Do you have any input into what God has for you?
There are some strings attached when you're waiting for God to move in your life. It will only happen if:
You're willing to make God the center of your life.
You can't focus on God on Sunday just to put the focus back on you on Monday. God isn't interested in "convenience" Christians.
You're willing to do what God tells you to do, even if it's hard.
Sometimes God will ask you to do something that just makes you want to scream...like forgive someone who hurt you very badly. You were the one who got hurt and yet God wants you to reach out to that person? Yup. You have to decide which one you want more; being right or having God's best.
If you plan to do things your own way in your own timing, you may as well slam the door right in God's face. As harsh as it sounds, that's exactly what you're doing if you're not trusting God.
When you make the decision to trust God instead of your feelings or your circumstances, you're stepping into a whole new level in your relationship with God. Trusting means you're not always going to know the answers and that you're OK with not knowing.
I know how you feel. Not knowing can drive you completely nuts if you let it. The more you dwell on it, the harder it will be. Trusting means you walk around saying things like:
God's got this! I know He's got my back and I'm NOT going to worry about this for one more minute!!
It doesn't sound easy, does it? Well, the good news is that as you develop spiritual maturity and as you learn about God's character, it gets easier to wait because once you've experienced God's best, nothing else compares. It's more than worth the wait.
And, you don't have to wait alone. Surround yourself with other Christians who will lift you up in prayer. Find a great Christian church that will support and stand behind you as you're waiting for God's best.
