I'm a Christian Work at Home Mom

As a Christian work at home mom, it comes as no surprise to my family that I am NOT Superwoman. In fact, some days I'm just happy everybody is fed, clothed, and moving forward.....well, at least they're moving.

My family consists of my husband of 28 years, our 23 year old daughter who has special needs, and our 20 year old son who is an aspiring, young musician.

I spent alot of time away from my kids when they were very young. I was one of those work-a-holics you read about. It wasn't until I realized that what I was doing wasn't working, that I finally made the decision to become a Christian "work at home mom.

Of course, that led to another challenge. Finding work at home isn't an easy task. How do you find something that isn't stuffing envelopes or some other mind-numbing activity?

Me Working on the Internet ... What a Concept

I'd always been interested in the internet and I really wanted to find a way to have a successful web business. But the problem was...I didn't know THING ONE about it. I knew how to send email and I certainly could write a letter or go to a website, but build my own website?? Me?? Where would I even start??

I felt exactly like this mom who also started a web business. Boy, could I relate!

As I researched the idea, I knew I needed to find something that would literally take me by the hand, step...by step...by step. And I do mean baby steps.

Before I got too carried away, I wanted to know if I could work at home AND be successful on the internet without having to store a bunch of products in my basement. Although that may be right for some people, I just wasn't in that mindset.

My research led me to a free Affiliates Masters Course on how to make money from your website through relationships with other companies.

The first thing that impressed me was that someone was actually writing about this concept without using a bunch of computer jargon that only techies understand.

Then I clicked on one of the links to see more about Site Build It! and I was hooked.

Everywhere I looked was this easy-to-understand terminology and what I liked even better was that all the software, the processes, and absolutely everything I needed was all in one place.

Let's face it, I didn't know ANYTHING about this and if it was up to me to find everything, well....I'd still be looking! But the more I dug into SBI and what they were doing, the more comfortable I felt. They even had a tool that helped me choose a profitable site topic. All I supplied was my passion for my topic and alot of hard work. SBI supplied the rest.

Get Real...

That's not to say that I did all this and suddenly found myself "rich beyond my wild expectations!" Let's be real. Even a superwoman knows there's no such thing as work at home and get rich overnight. But if you're like me and alot of other people, you don't mind spending time and money on something that can truly make a difference for you and your family.

It's probably a shocker, but SBI tells you to use the TORTOISE as your guide when you're building your website. I know ... it's not something you hear from companies trying to sell you stuff. SBI isn't interested in "get your site up in 15 minutes" or "become a millionaire overnight". Everywhere you look in SBI's Action Guide, you'll see slow and steady, slow and steady.....I can do that!

So...Why Would People Want to Visit MY Site?

Even more importantly, HOW are they going to find my site? This was one of my biggest concerns. But I was pleasantly surprised by SBI's way of teaching you as you go along. They took all this complicated stuff and turned it into concepts I could understand.

I was able to RELAX because SBI built in all the elements search engines are looking for. And even better was that I found all these other people in the SBI forums who had already done all this stuff and knew exactly how to do what I wanted to do next.

I'm still working on the relaxing part on an ongoing basis, but as I move forward and see more and more visitors, AND an increasing income, it sure gets easier.

So What's Next?

Maybe there is a real life superwoman out there. I just know I'm not her. I don't have all the technical expertise or alot of fancy internet lingo, but I do have a passion for my site topic and I'm willing to work hard. It's been a long time since I've felt like I could truly make a difference. Now I feel like I can help lots of other people through my site and help my family at the same time. And of course, I can work at home.
