Your Advice

I am a retired policeman, I have a true Christian story that was in Hollywood at one time. The person working to develop it into a feature film unfortunately died before getting the story together. It is my story, what would be the best way I could approach putting this story into a book.I really would like to have a woman's point of view being that the story is about my being the first bachelor to adopt and abandon child,and fighting against the system who was against it. God had prepared me for this long before I realize it , and nothing was going to prevent this adoption, not even the death of a police detective.

Hi Lee,

There are lots of different options to get your story told in book form. There are ghost writers, but I will tell you that they are expensive if you want somebody good.

You can also try your own hand at writing. I know. It can seem overwhelming. But once you get started, many times the words will flow for you. After you have something started, you can always get with an editor to help you get it to look right.

And yes, there are lots of Christian publishing companies out there. Some of them allow self publishing, which is the route many people choose these days.

OR, you can start your own website to promote your book and market it online. From there you can hook to Amazon or even convert it to an ebook. Many people have been successful going that route as well. I can give you more info about that part if you're interested.

I suggest contacting Sherwood Baptist in Albany, Georgia. This is where the movie Fireproof was filmed.


Sounds like a great God written story that would 'witness' to many. I look forward to seeing it.
